85913-90A01 is the Heater HVAC Blower relay for 81-10/85 FJ60. NLA and no substitute or aftermarket that I can find. The later one (> 10/85) is substantially different.

Anyone found something that will work ?

Cheers.

If you get time do you want to open it up and post some gut shots for me?

I don't have one available to take pix. It's a standard 4-pin far as I can tell... the later one, -30020 is a 5-pin and different pin layout.

Only these from the web:

I found this Generic Denso that looks similar. DENSO 5670047 12V 22 amps.

The OE is 20 amps

If I could see inside, I could tell whether or not I could repair it, or if the guts of a different unit could fit into the case.
I would assume the older version is a SPDT relay, given the later (which IIRC is the same part in the 62) is a DPDT relay. With that it should be fairly easy to adapt a modern Bosch/Tycho relay to use as a replacement.

Well, I was wrong (not unusual). :shame: But in my defense, the EPC is sometimes very confusing. The -90A01 is listed for '81-10/85 USA FJ60 w/cooler, which is exactly what I have, and I was assuming A/C was an option up to that point so the wiring reflected that.

85913-30020 is listed as 4/85-E with or without A/C, so there's a little overlap, but there are exceptions depending on VIN ... Mine falls under the -30020 VIN and I finally risked my back and had to break out the cheater glasses to actually clearly see the spot where that relay would go, and it is a 5-pin type, the DPDT Spook refers to...

Ok, well at least that one is readily available. (Crosses to a DENSO 5670046 567-0046 or SMP RY-291}

I'll leave this thread up in case anyone else comes across this confusion, along with some relevant linx.

Cheers.

85913-30020-83 is the newest OE part number

This is helpful, looking for a replacement relay for the 62, chasing an intermittent issue where the breaker trips when using the higher speeds on the blower. May or may not be this but a good and cheap place to start.

After hours of searching, I’ve found AXC1984 - a 22A 12v relay, that fits. I did have to slightly tweak the spades in towards each other, I measured 1mm difference, and it took quite a push to get in, but now I have everything working again. I’ll attach screen shots of the different part numbers from different suppliers, and the vehicles that these are made for. (Mostly Honda and Hyundai). Also, this is a 4 pin relay. The only thing that seems different is 1) if I depress the A/C switch, the compressor will engage without the fan on, and 2) the A/C switch doesn’t light up, but I can live with this. I went through the end of an Australian summer with no A/C, and then the start of winter with no demisting, so these things are trivial. I still can’t work out for the life of me why terminal 5 (87a I think) is NC (to the hot wire) when the switch is off, and what this could have to do with the A/C clutch or switch light being powered when the switch is open, but I’m not an auto electrician, I’m just glad to have it all working again. I got the relay from NAPA, if this helps.
