Looks great cant wait to see the rack. I have about 30 iron skillits but Im not allowed to bring them in the kitchen so they sit in a box in the basement.
I am building a laundry room and full bath in the basement for the Mrs. for christmas.
My grandfather used an old buggy wheel as a pot/pan rack above their kitchen island when they built their house in the early 80's. It has a light in the center and still spins on the original hub. Pretty neat feature that would probably set someone back a couple $$$$ nowadays. Downdraft hood on the old Thermador cooktop is a little sketchy so the wood has been "well preserved" over the last 30 yrs. Pans hang on heavy copper wire and some twisted square stock hooks over the wagon wheel.
I thought about copying the setup for our kitchen and looked at cutting a wheel in half to mount to the wall and curve out over the cooktop but we went with a big vent hood instead. Pretty nice addition to a "rustic" house though. Functional art

My wife told me all she wanted for x-mas was to finish the bar, which is long overdue. Pretty much done, just need to come up with a copper beer tap, which I have been struggling to find. I ordered a brass one, but it just doesn't look right. If anyone has any sources, please let me know, I'd like to find something by New Years. Thanks.
Made the bar out of redwood slabs that I picked up from a local guy.
We went into this project without a real plan, we ad-libbed on the way, knowing we wanted kind of a wood or copper look, something that fit the area we live in. And this is what we came up with.
Yeah you're right, Snoopy is hammered! He started New Years early... Here's a link to where I got the copper. I got all the edging and the sink from these guys and they were very helpful, even when I had to return the first sink because it was too large, no problemo. Circle City Copperworks Bar Tops
