Hey 87 Warrior

Can you post up pics with that FJ cruiser rubber cup inserts....do they really work even for water / soda bottles ?

Thanks

Jay
The FJ inserts work perfect for me. I am a heavy pop drinker. Cans can wiggle some as seen in the picture, but a plastic bottle won't move at all. I do not have the 'butterfly' insert found in some 100's.

Hope this helps :)

So, is there a difference in the size of the cup holders? I have a '98 LX and a Nalgene 1 liter bottle definitely will not fit in there, but @B-RAD says that they fit in his 2000 no problem. Anyone else notice a size difference? If that's the case then I want to switch...

I mean, it's a Lexus and I can't even fit a bottle of wine into the drink holder. Seriously.

One liter Nalgene bottles fit perfectly in the cup holders sans the adjustable middle insert. They are the water bottle of choice for my crew.

Mine fits with the insert positioned all the way to one side. I was super worried my nalgene wouldn't fit when I got my insert! Never leave home without it!

My wife drinks tea like it's going out of style. She has a super tall and skinny insulated cup that she loves and it would go flying at every turn. My fix solved the problem!! Happy wife!!

Hey Ramathorn 15

CAn you share some pics ?

A 12 ounce can in a cheap can coozie fits like a dream.

Notice this after having my 04' LC 15 months. It's not great to hold taller cups but can grab a bottle.

Yes there is a difference in the 98, 99, though I don't exactly what. You can see the butterfly that fits in 00-07 trying to fit in a 98:

I'm on the fence about buying the wings and hacking the plastic to fit vs buying the FJ inserts. OR anyone buy a 00-07 cup holder section and retro that back into a 98/99? Wonder if it just clips in, or if they changed the attachment points as well?

I have a 98 and bought the wing insert which doesn't fit without modification. I sanded down the plastic till it would fit and bought some bakeable clay stuff to make the piece fit better. Its pretty weird but it works. It also ended up siting about an inch higher than "normal" which helps a bit on holding things still. I've considered adding some window insulating foam strips to the inside of the cups to help with holding drinks a bit better as well.

interesting, can you take a pic?

Those also would not fit my 2007. There is a two stage slot on my 2007, whereas this part offered has a tapered slot.
