Went and played in some fresh, cold snow with @SnowVersion. The snow wasn't deep enough to necessitate chains for me or lockers for him, but a great time was had anyway!

Just curious but do you have a lift on your prado? I have a 2 inch ome lift and I am thinking about pitting a smaller tire on. I currently have 33x12.50s on a 15 inch rim. I like how yours looks though! Also how did you get your arb bumper in the states?

I have OME’s in the rear (mediums I think, about 60mm lift) and stock fronts with 30mm spacers. Eventually I’ll get OME front springs as well. The tires are 235/85R16 on factory 16x6 wheels.
The bumpers I bought from another mud member, but they should be available (maybe special order) through any ARB dealer. I think the part numbers for them are posted here a couple of pages back.
I gotcha that is probably the lift I have on mine. The Ome seems nice. I installed a stock height OME kit on my last land cruiser fj80 and loved it. How do you like that tire size? I was thinking about going 255 85 16s. And thanks Ill look for the arb part numbers in this thread.

I love the tires I have right now. Initially I was tossing around the idea of going with the 255/85/16 but with the transmission gearing I put in it would have been a little too tall in 5th. The skinny tires seem to track really nicely both on and off road, and don't get pulled around a lot in slushy or muddy conditions.

I recently purchased a trailer wiring kit from etrailer.com (part number 118538). It is the same trailer wiring kit that @FJ73Texas used in his HZJ77, but unfortunately the Prado appears to use a different connector for the tail lights. The connectors in mine are slightly smaller and have a totally different clip system. I haven't been able to find any wiring kits that have the same plugs as mine, so I'm thinking I may just have to cut and splice. If anyone has a good way to look up the part number for the plug and cross reference it to see if there are any other common Toyotas that use it that would be great; I haven't been able to find part numbers for individual wiring plug parts.
In other news, I got to replace the clutch in this little truck: a Daihatsu Hijet S83P. It was quite fun to work on actually, the parts were all very similar to Toyota architecture, just scaled down. The clutch disc couldn't have been more than about 7" in diameter, and when I took the flywheel in to a local shop to be resurfaced they said it was the smallest one they'd ever done!

Those look just like the connectors I got way back by accident when I was doing another wiring project. Here are some pictures. You can get them from Corsa Technic or you can have some of mine if you want.

I can't recall how I found the site but I agree that it is a great resource. You can identify the connector using the Toyota EWD that applies to your vehicle then cross reference the OEM part number given in the EWD on the Corsa website.

That would be awesome! I've been wanting to take a trip up through Alberta/BC along the Rockies for a few years now, just need to find the time to do it.
