Yea I hate too but I have another 40 project I need the money for. Going to be sad to see it go. It was a project for me and my son, actually I would work on it and he would sit there and talk to me or play Minecraft on his iPod;) but it has been a great time.

Some more pics, I got the wing windows installed and took pictures of the stainless hardware I used in case it could help you guys. I also do the dash installed with the working dash light. I can't believe I got all the lights to work on this rig with the "common" grounds... Anyways here are some pics...

Using chrome polish and a brass brush I got the rust off my head rest posts, came out great but was labor intensive. Here you can see one cleaned next to one waiting to be cleaned and shots of the head rest installed....

Hey, did you get those machine screws for the pop out windows from HD or Lowes?

Did you already have the plastic inserts on the seats for the headrests?

It's looking good. If I win the lottery before you sell it I will be giving you a call. Hope it goes well for you.

Thanks!
I had the plastic inserts already, just have to be careful getting them out so they don't break.

I earlier installed my new dash but forgot to mention that my old "sleeves" for the windshield retention knobs were missing. With the help from a mud member I was able to make some new ones the correct size and diameter out of steel tube. I also stripped down my lower dash retention clips and sprayed them down with some Rustoleum flat black rust inhibitor, flat black looked the closest to how they were stock and I installed my lower dash pads. Pics....

While I was at it, I snapped some pics of all the dash lights and such lit up. Very happy everything works. Kind of hard to see the "lights" on the headlight pull knob lit up, very cool how it does this, uses a sort of fiber optic thick strand in the head light switch. Thanks to
@Coolerman all my turn signals, bights, everything electrical is working perfect on this truck!

@Racer65 sent me one his first reproduction air cleaner intake hoses for my resto. I could not be happier, I had a very nice hose that is being offered by a mud member but really wanted the OEM hose with the correct shoulders on the hose. The hose arrived promptly this week (on my birthday, nice) and I just put it on. Looks perfect and is extremely rugged in construction. Perfect reproduction of the OEM hose that is no longer offered. Big thanks to Racer65. Pics....

Paint guy should be getting this in 3 weeks for final touch ups and wet sand and it time for the sales block, thinking of just going with ebay and start at 30K no reserve. Can't afford to go lower. Tomorrow I'll finish the door and pop the new panels on.

Just my opinion, but I think you're gonna sell yourself short on ebay.
Your restoration appears to be top notch and seeing what some of the cruisers at mecum and such are selling for it may be worth you persueing that avenue.
I know it's gonna be a bit more of a pain to make arrangements, but I would suggest try contacting a broker and see what they say.
Hemmings Motor News may be a good source to find a broker. Also keep in mind that they usually have many connections,so they may be able to get a deal together without the stress or expense of an auction.
I have seen the pictures of some Cruisers on auction web sites and I'm telling you they are not up to the standard that your's is.
You've put a lot of your heart and soul into this project and it shows...
I appreciate you documenting this for us along the way, Helps keep me and I'm sure a bunch of others motivated on our own projects.
Thanks and good luck !!
Dave

What? That must be a typo! I have to believe you can get way more then that. Even though I'm not shopping for one, that price really has me interested. I'd sure like to see you get double that.

After thoroughly enjoying this thread and all the information therein I think that's a low number.
I would hate to see it sell, then a week later be on some flipper website that sells muscle cars and exotics.
Maybe pm the guy who sold that white early model 40 on mud a couple of months back and pic his brain for advice. Sorry can't remember the thread.

Thanks guys, I was never looking to make a profit off it but would love to get more just so I can do more upgrades on my other 40 project. It's sincerely been a lot of fun working on another restoration and if I can just get some my cash back on it I'll be satisfied.
