Anyone have a ski rack they're not going to use?

I'm looking for one to bolt on top of my crossbars, for at least two pairs of powder skis.

Let me know, I'll probably post a wanted add up in the classifieds as well.

Seems like everything on CL around here is 250 miles away.

When you put back together your ign switch did you put a few dabs of dielectric on it… helps then slide a bit smoother

I have my old one that I did like you… but also got a new one from Kurt

Now my old one is a spare :)

I hear ya on CL I’ve been having no luck finding things close and nobody wants to meet you half way for their free chit :meh:

I sure didn't.

No idea why I didn't think about that. It is smoother now than it's been in the last 10 years, I'm definitely going to replace it soon.

It would be my luck it would crap out when I'm 200 miles from anything.

put em' in a ski bag up top!

I can’t recall where I saw it but, it was a ”ski rack” of sorts that mounted on the swing out tire carrier. Made it easy to access the skis. I’ll see if I can track down the pic.

Finally had a decent snow here. Some nice fresh snow on top of the usual groomed boiler plate. looks like more on the way. I may head down to Canaan or over to Wisp and see if I still have my “sea legs”..

This is an interesting setup from Rocky Road Outfitters

I think I have a Thule or Yakima one….somewhere In the shop. It’s smaller so like 2 skis I think.

Boarder here so I’m probably high and listening to bad music and can’t remember…off the slopes boomer! I’m shreddin gnar.

I usually keep my gear inside the rig and I have never used that ski attachment. I’ll see if I can find it, but I’m nowhere close to you.

Hard to work on the cruisers too with those beat up knuckles.

This is a ”store bought” version. The pic I saw was very similar on a Yoda application. As I recall it was added onto the 4plus basket. But you get the idea. I reckon a man of you technical acumen and ”drive on” attitude could fab up a reasonable facsimile…..😎

I used to carry skis on roofs of various rigs, a lot, then I got old, and boring, now I don't carry them so often. If fact, last time was .... well nevermind. When I did carry them, I hated getting to the ski area (or home) with crud-incrusted skis and bindings. I migrated to a Yak rocket box, and henceforth clean skis, et al. A lot more bulk, but I didn't have to flush out the bindings. Just thoughts, since I'm old and boring now :p .

I currently just toss them in the back of my rig diagonally, I’m just trying to organize the back of my rig to be a little more efficient and tidy.

Between two backpacks full of gear, 2 sets of boots, skis, poles, and food it gets cluttered in the back.

Rocket box adds a lot storage space. Used it in the summer too for camping, fishing, etc. trips. Just have to remember it's up there when pulling under things, like the garage door.

Hard to fit in the garage with a rocket box, so I too have gone the roof rack route. The spare tire version would be convenient, but all the road grime make it and unattractive opinion IMHO.

Meh, I don't want to be mistaken for a tourist!
Just get some big pvc tube or corrugated pipe attached to the rack with a screw in plug end. Weather tight and I’m pretty sure no one would mistake you for a tourist…..

Definitely not here! Add some Busch Light stickers and I'm a bona-fide local!
