@Jdc1 are both grooves in your WP pulley the same width?

I pulled the hub from an old water pump I had in a scrap pile, it was the smaller diameter that is needed for the older style pulleys. A little beer, cussing, and muscle I pressed the hub on my new water pump. After pressing the hub on the right depth and some quick measurements it looks to be pretty spot on. I'll take some pics next time I'm out in the garage, I just need to source some 40mm bolts for everything. The plastic fan, and spacer are a little longer than the metal bleade.

Yes, I think they are. Both of the belts in the pic above are the same width, just different lengths.

I'm going to pull a measurement but I think mine are different widths, the front one is quite a bit narrower. Not that I need the front one, but if it is there........

I definitely won't be losing any sleep when I have the front of this engine together. It's been a PITA. I'm pretty close to being mostly done with the engine.

Did some work tonight on little things on the chassis, I put both of the front bump stops on but they look like they are out of place. Both of them protrude from the side of the frame about 1/4". I don't remember what they looked like before they were pulled, they just don't look right.

I'm pretty sure mine protruded like that when I took them off ten years ago

Well my build just took a serious turn for the worse, it is now pushed WAY back on the list of things to do.

On Tuesday I received a call from a job I had interviewed with in January, well I got a tentative offer for the position. I will now have to sell my house and pack up everything I own and move across the country. I had been optimistic about getting the job for a while, but actually getting an offer shocked me a little.

My 40 is scattered throughout my garage, basement, and house.

I will need to replace some carpet, paint, landscape, clean up, all the crap that has to be done to sell a home.

Packing my 40 and all of my tools in a trailer is the easy part, selling, and packing a 2800 sq ft house is the hard part.

All in less than 6 weeks.

We have been talking for a few years about shaking our load and downsizing. Now is the time.

Montana here I come.

On Tuesday I received a call from a job I had interviewed with in January, well I got a tentative offer for the position. I will now have to sell my house and pack up everything I own and move across the country. I had been optimistic about getting the job for a while, but actually getting an offer shocked me a little.

Thanks, I am sure the next few months will be hectic. Selling my house is something that I do NOT look forward to, especially if I am in MT and my wife has to take care of everything here.

I wish now that I had busted se knuckles a little harder to get my 40 in a better position. Montana is the place for a 40, with mine in 1000 pieces I will be very anxious to get it back together.

i don't envy the work ahead but the result should be great. I always found a major change to be like a fresh start and invigorating. Gets one out of any mental ruts he may have been in.

I have always thought there is something special about living somewhere that nobody knows who you are.

When I hear guys at work talk about knowing this person or that person from 30 years ago, and they all seem to know the same people, I sit back and smile, knowing I don't know a single one of them!

Of course I do work in West Virginia, they are all from the same family.

Congrats on the move. My mother's family was from Boulder, not too far away. Always wanted to visit, but my Uncle went there about 10 years ago and said it really changed. Most of the buildings he remembered from the 40s were gone and it went downhill. Hope you're going to get a heated garage!
