Uhhh-huhhhh! Look at your bad self!!

I think I have a "YETI" that will fit right down in that basket..Be just the thing for an extended fishing trip!!

I stumbled upon this on a total accident, just browsing Craigslist and I saw it at a insane price. I couldn't pass on it locally, somewhat. Now I need to figure out how to finish the rest of the build!

How so? Meaty beaty big and bad? Stockish?

Stockish as I can, but the funds ran out in a flash over the weekend! With all the body work still to go, the exhaust still needs done, and all the goodies that go along with putting it all back together, I am going to have to pull some serious OT to raise more money! The bad part of that is te more I am making money the less I am working on the 40.

Conundrum fer sure. Your in at Depot Level:

(a) In General.- The term "depot-level maintenance and repair" means (except as provided in subsection (b)) material maintenance or repair requiring the overhaul, upgrading, or rebuilding of parts, assemblies, or sub-assemblies, and the testing and reclamation of equipment as necessary, regardless of the source of funds for the maintenance or repair or the location at which the maintenance or repair is performed.

There was a rear heater and lines delivered to my house this week also, and a set of Smittybilt seat covers, OD green, with the pouches is on the way.

You are going to like those covers. I had a "rigger" friend (IE derelict-reprobate) cut off the seat portion and re-hem the top portion.

I have read about stiches tearing on some of them, I guess I will test it out. Let's see if they are Infantry proof.

I will be searching for a poly holster that I can clip in also, for the times that I may need something extra.

Of course I live in MD, I do not own any firearms. Holster is for educational purposes only.

I almost forgot this part: I had to move a re-stich the top attachment straps to fit the stock TLC seat. When your covers arrive, test fit them. If you need some seamstress work IOT make them fit, let me know.

I carry a hanky in my holster... its the handiest spot I could find.

Sometimes a sneeze comes on really quickly and I have become very adept at drawing that hanky!!

I keep a burrito in my holster as I need to keep a good handle on my blood sugar drops.:hillbilly:

I cant wait to get back to WV, figure out my garage situation, and have time and space to patch up the bad spots on my tub. There are a few that I am aware of and there are plenty that I am not aware of, but hopefully it isn't too bad! I thought we had some bad roads, but down here in Mississippi there are roads so bad you can still see the roman chariot marks dug into the pavement. I have been trying to choose the lesser of two evils on my commute to work.

Yeah, I was aware of a few bad spots aside from the rear sill, then I started to poke around! Every spot that usually has rust had it!

Crawl, walk, run.

Cut some parts out, got prepped to weld new patch in on one side tonight.

@Chungas Revenge here is a shot of the bed support. It may be a candidate for replacement.

What is your welding setup?

Just using a Hobart Handler 140, still learning. Burning .024 solid wire, C25 gas.
Cutting with various tools from Harbor Freight.

Rust magnets..

There were massive chunks of who knows what that came out from inside of that support when I drilled it off. It was probably a wise decision to remove it, I didn't initially plan to, but after I saw where the main rust was I had little choice. Only 3 more to remove!

I have always had mentality of "Do it right, or don't do it at all". It is hard to teach kids that one though!

I saw where the main rust was

I've noticed (mule included), that spot seems to be a wellspring for generating rust...I get the concept and it serves a purpose. Waiting to see how you tackle this in the event I need to steal all or some of your ideas...

As it stands now, a couple years down the road as my "Face-lift" begins to sag, aluminum may be my go to metal of choice..
