Spending a few days with the elves before they both head out to college. Sequoias were on the bucket list.

Definitely a highlight of my college experience. Met some great friends and learned a ton about engineering design. I was the Suspension lead of my team this year. We got 4th place in design at Williamsport, PA.

Yea my school has Baja, Formula IC and Formula E. My senior design project next year is to design the rear wing package on the IC team. Here is last year’s competition car.

We hit Tahoe through Fresno/ Merced and the california trail. Miles of orange and olive groves, drylow prairie Sierras to the pines at 8000 ft in the high Sierras. Probably one of my best drives. We grabbed the freshest OJ around and hit the black bear diner for brunch. Took a chocolate pie to go. Boys discovered what a newspaper was and a juke box.

While waiting for brunch line, we played corn hole. Random dude walks up to us and chats about his life journey. Non traditional path to civil engineering. Gave the boys some advice on college. He designed most of the irrigation canal systems that feed the orchards we drove through (Tulare county). He has a book published and archived in the library of congress. He uses the hydraulic equations that the founder of the company I work for currently

Did a trip around Lake Tahoe. 72 miles. Best scenic drive. A must do bucket list. Swam in Emerald Bay (last pic). Gods country. Need to get back here in a cruiser.
Hi CD. I joined the forum yesterday. My first post. Just spent about 3 hours going through this entire thread. Kids growing up. Old barn. New barn. Safety popos. Rollbars that suck and get fixed. nut/bolt organization. U of M? CA? Texas A&M for both! Hullabaloo... Sriracha brisket. Gonna find that recipe. New Calf and celebration of life.

We reluctantly left Tahoe this morning heading toward Fresno to catch our flight back. We bought some time on the return trip and we visited Valley Hybrids. @orangefj45 took some time to show the elves around. Cool projects happening indeed. @landcrusher909, we saw some of your handy work!
