Cylinder head with new OEM headgasket went in. @Cowboy45 wire wheeled the headbolts and chased the threads on the block and tightened to spec in three successive passes.

@Cowboy45 will get at the oil pick up, modify the oil pan for turbo oil return port.

@SipLife also had a very productive weekend. He took a break from the pony (waiting for shifter). He got at his 40 build which he will document separately in the 40 section. He removed all the sun baked weather stripping. We also tried to free up the seized engine with mystery oil and more. No luck. Out it has to come. He got in with all he had to remove the drive train which is a corvette 327 engine/ Toyota 4spd and single case transfer case with e-brake.

He disconnected all hoses, cables, loosened mounts on engine tranny, removed the transmission hump, front bib, and yanked the sucker out. It is first engine pull. Proud moment for him and me. It wore him out.

@SipLife then separated the engine from the the rest of the drive train. Engine will go to scrap yard. We will sell the bellhousing, tranny, transfer, transfer case mount to someone doing a SBC conversion.

Looks awesome. If that is really a Corvette 327 it may have some value. Post the part number and date - each on the rear webbing at the bellhousing mount. I can check for you

Thanks for checking Pat. Scrap it is.

Thanks @Ocho77!! Just doing LIFE. Takes an effort. Twists and turns. Overall fun. It’s become a family affair.

You know you and da fam are always welcome at our place. Let’s see if we can make it happen. Sorry we could not connect during the new year.

@Cowboy45 and @SipLife did their respective things. Buttoning the 2H. Shifter came in for the Pony so he got all the interior done. I also finally got getting the bolt drawers cleaned oiled and treated with boiled linseed oil. Next starts the big sort of the 5gal bucket. We also sold some of parts we are not using on old landy which will fund the AXT turbo kit.

Looks like I'll be passing through your area later this month. I was going to see about stopping by and checking things out, but I think I'll wait until after that pile of bolts is sorted, my ocd would be out of control 😆

That bucket brings bad memories for me. My dad had a 5 gallon bucket of screws/bolts/whatever and when he'd work on stuff, I was the one that would look/sort/clean up. :)

I can only imagine.

It was therapeutic for me. Beer in hand. Some tunes going. You are looking at 150lbs of bolts.
