Because of my medical condition I am currently dealing with, any wrenching is off the table.
So I threw in the towel, loaded up all my parts and had my 100 towed to Lance at Iron Pig, as he was agreeable to help with my project.
Hate to pay to have it done but it will be done right and i'll be back on the road.

While I wait to go get my Cruiser, i've been parusing things I don't need for it.
Anyone have any success mounting one of these on a NA spec 100? It looks like there needs to be a hole in the hood for the bolt, plastic clip and spring to sit in?

I like the guys at Iron Pig. They flat out told me to give up on the rusty truck you know about. And yes you do need to drill a couple of holes in the hood for the emblem.

Lance is a realist, not an opportunist so it makes sense he gave you that advice.
I'm considering drilling for the hood emblem, when you have a sec could you get a picture of the underside of one of your 100s that has one?

Got the cruiser back, boy did I miss it.
Drove it about 100 miles, now has a misfire on cylinder 5. I would think perhaps because 1)i've never done the plugs and 2) it sat for so long.
Also sounds like theres a rattle from the muffler, which I noticed a quiet "blublublub" from since i've had it.
Plugs arrived today. Stay tuned (up ((heh)).
Other than that, everything looks like it was done well. The clean new parts under the hood is weird to view, without all the grease caked on due to a nice pressure washing when they were doing the install.

Found the culprit

Denso Japan ignition coil.
Of course the spark plug socket keeps sticking to the spark plug and wont come out...

For the first time since I got the cruiser I took it camping, had to drive a relatively beat up dirt road for a couple miles, with shallow creek crossings and tons of large rocks. Sagging suspension and running boards weren’t able to stop me from crashing along.

Put it in 4 lo and used rear and Center lockers just to get them moving. Everything worked well.

From my commute this AM.
Seems to be accurate regarding MPH and distance.

Also, ill hopefully be getting the third row ac delete done to try and get ac in the front.

If that doesn't work out...I wonder the plausibility of getting a dometic or some other such brand a/c unit and mounting it over the sunroof. More trouble than its worth? Driving a vehicle with no AC in densely developed Northern VA when its 100 degrees out + humidity is absolutely miserable, so I will try anything at this point.

probably more hassle than it's worth, my 100 doesn't have rear air so you should be able to source everything you need. Your a better man than I, im too fat to be rolling around with no air lol

If I can go a consistent 50-60 with all the windows cracked it's somewhat manageable, but when the truck has been baking in the sun all morning/afternoon with no windows to vent it really is unpleasant.

i hear ya bud the humidity has been horrible recently

I wonder how fast it would murder my alternator if I plugged an inverter in my cigarette lighter and strapped my portable AC unit in the cargo area? Could vent it out a passenger window...

Anyone know if we can run 88 without problems? It’s a dollar cheaper here at the moment..Googlefu didn’t turn up anything

Brakes are all grinding and making a ton of noise.

Bought new front and rear pads to install, sounds like front pads are pretty straign forward, rear rotors are looking chewed up but I am hoping pads can stave off that job. Planning on doing it tonight or Saturday as I may have to tow a trailer with a piano on Sunday.

Have the ABS and differential light on at the moment, so bad pads and no ABS is fun.

Also had my heat shield above the muffler rust and completely fall down while I was driving, and discovered a massive hole in the top of the muffler, which explains why it sounds straight piped. Anyone selling a muffler for cheap?

Stay tuned.

Got the brake pads done on our pilot, then it was off to the cruiser. I started with the back because they’d been so loud . Was surprised to find drivers side pads on pretty good shape. I replaced them anyways:

Moved to the passenger side. Discovered why it sounds like a boat anchor has been tossed behind my cruiser:
