s***. I threw away a set of those side marker lights that looks like you need. DAMMIT. I knew that was gonna happen.

I had them when I bought them.

The crackhead I hired to help me with the paint job lost them though.

I am in search of them, some interior dash pieces and doors ( I want to make half doors). Oh and a snugtop shell for the bed.

The springs have not settled much since the lift was installed.

I really want to get this truck on the road and daily drive it.

Typical OME springs.... They won't settle like the way your hoping... I'd pull a leaf out. It will level your truck and smooth it out

Once I get it running I am going to take it to Home Depot and load it up with concrete bags. Hopefully that helps.

Had the same OME stink bug on the 4Runner:hillbilly:

Even though my OME's are 16 years old now with over 150,000 miles on them, they sat unloaded for a couple years so ya I had that rake when I put it back on the road last Fall. Problem was, I had an inspection in a few days and I was an inch over legal in the rear, so I filled six 5-gal buckets with sand and took it for a few bumpy rides, it eventually settled in. If you have a really big pry bar, stick it in the rear shackles and pry them out so they can rotate better, make sure they are well greased.

Now my fronts are all sagged, I need new ones.

Love the work so far. Sub'd. Let me know next time you're in CLT.

Thanks

I wish my truck was in good of shape as yours.

Not sure when I will be in Charlotte again. I am currently talking with the bosses at work of possibly moving back to NC. Would be nice to be back with the ONSC Family.

I am however trying to have the truck ready for Logan's run next month.

I was not able to get my 80 ready for the Over the mountain run this weekend in the old telling area in NC. so I am thinking I am going to try doing some rust repair on the truck.

Never done anything like that so wish me luck. Hopefully I have some update pictures later on this weekend.

Are floor boards 14 gauge ?

Have a few questions hopefully someone can help.

On Monday I am going to go pull the interior off an 87 4Runner.
It is tan and brown so it should help with transitioning from blue interior to tan interior. Plus it has bucket seats.

The guys said I can have the whole interior for $100. Was not planning on pulling the dash from the truck but it is in real good shape. Would it fit in my 82?

The 4 runner is complete and in real good shape.

What other parts could I get that I could use in my truck?

Was thinking of pulling the power steering system but honestly have not done any research on wether it will work on my truck. Will it?

What about the transfer case? Would it work on my truck for a dual case system?

Anything from the front end that I can use?

Thanks in advance

Del

I doubt there's anything from the interior you can use in your truck, it's very different. Maybe the seats, but the passenger seat won't work, one of the rear mounts is in a different spot. I guess you could just drill another hole in the floor. But it's not an adjustable seat, it only has one location that it "locks" into then you slide it back.

Most of the PS system will swap, except the steering box. Very different on the IFS truck.

Front end? Not really.

Awesome. Thanks for the info.
I will make the seats work. Don't mind drilling a hole in the floor boards.

Rust repair sucks.

Slowly but surely.

went ahead and removed more than I had but just wanted to make sure all the rust was gone.

I am out of the country so no real progress will be made by me in the next year. I made the decision before I left to send the truck off to be built while I am gone.

That's an impressive list of parts!

Do you still need those side markers? I found them. PM me if you do.

KLF

I do need them. However I currently do not have an address for u to send them too. If you are willing to hold them I will hit you up when I get back to the states so u can mail them to me.

Thanks

Wandering about the engine.
Option 1
Work with what I have. Replace radiator, clutch, alternator., hoses , wire annd plugs, carburetor, and baseline all the fluids.

Option 2

Replace current 22r with a 22re and rip all the benefits of a freshly built fuel injection motor.

Option 3

Chevy 6.0
A lot more money and work but I wander how much more it would be from a 22re swap?

Your truck cleaned up pretty nice, good job. Sorry I know its been a while since this conversation was first held. These mirrors look like the 88-95 version. If you can confirm the part numbers of those you bought, that would be awesome. I want a pair like this for my 81. Thanks.

I put a 22re in my 81 truck cause I found one cheap. I just use it to carry stuff around town so it works for me. A 5VZ-FE would be nice.

If you look at the pics I posted the truck was bought with original metal mirrors. I shopped on line for what I believe are 2wd versions but I am not 100% sure.

I want to say that I paid like $15 for the pair off of amazon or online somewhere.

They bolted right up to the existing holes of the original mirrors. If you notice I still have the bottom nutserts from the origInal mirrors. For now I just screwed in some "Headless bolts" with lock tight, sorry can't remember the correct name for those inserts right now.

I did not delete them because I was thinking it might be a secure way to mount up a go pro camera after facing up a simple mounting bracket.

The original mirrors are in horrible shape by the way.
