Are those 295/75r16?

Good evening LC owners. I'm new to the gang, so ill give a little introduction. I'm Darren, active duty Army (16yrs and still kicking), currently stationed at Ft. Riley, KS and I'm a fairly recent owner of a 95 Land Cruiser. Two years ago (2017-2019) I served as a diplomat to Tajikistan. LC are every popular there and a guy brought the one I own now from the states yrs ago and it was just being passed diplomat to diplomat. The last owner wanted to keep it but got stationed in a place where LC would be too large. So I purchased it (stock) for $4000.

At the embassy, we had an American LC mechanic that saved me a ton of money. Also if the mechanic didnt have time, I found a certain spot on the local economy that knew what they were doing an dirt cheap. So most repairs and added mods super cheap, just had to order the parts from the States. The Tajiks even prepped and painted the LC for me for less than $1000.

Brought the vehicle back to the States with me from Tajikistan and had a few "real mechanics give it a good look over. Mostly everything was good to go, just changed out a few bolts that were stripped because they didn't have the right tool in Tajikistan.

In a few yrs ill retire from the Army and move to Japan (wife is from there and daughter was born there). I will bring the LC and my Dodge Challenger, my two prize possessions, and the rest can see me on the other side.

As a side bar: Those who know/dont know Joey from Wits End need to know that he is a "GRADE A". Ive bought several items from him, he supports the military, and before purchasing the turbo, we had a phone conversation to ensure it was right for my vehicle.

New to the site and new to LC ownership.
1. 1996 FZJ80 - bone stock

3. No name yet. I generally don't name my vehicles so it may be the vehicle with no name.
4. 143K
5. No mods yet, other than a few miner repairs and touch-up. However, the plan is large. Selling a 4Runner to fund the build (photo below in case you know anyone that may be interested), starting with an LS swap (actually Vorteq swap + trans, 1fz is toast), axles (full rebuild w/ eLockers, gears, shafts, etc.), suspension, front and rear bumpers, aux fuel tank, armor, 35's on stock wheels. an't start this build until the 4Runner is off the payroll.
5. Non daily driver. Intended use is heavy off-road and expedition.

Have you thought about a 2uz-fe swap?

I have and actually have one in my garage that's slated to go into a 1st Gen 4Runner project. The problem with the 2uz is that you can't really modify or tune them and you don't really gain that much performance over the 1fz. If I'm going to spend the money and effort I'm going to go all the way. The LQ9 is 6 liters of low RPM torque that is very unstressed. They are very easy to electronically tune and parts are cheap and plentiful.

Seems pretty stock for the most part. This is my 3rd LC, second 80. I’ve been lurking on this site for over a decade, even had an old account (forgot the credentials, sorry mods) never had much to contribute as it’s all been done and then some long before I discovered Mud. I sold the 60 (first LC) and the 80 (94 fzj) years ago and regretted both. Finally got my hands on this “specimen” a few months back for $2500. It’s my favorite color and it’s fairly clean, so the miles didn’t scare me, besides, the knuckles weren’t puking and it ran awesome so wth. It’s not my DD so I’m gonna get it baselined in stages as I can afford the time and parts. I’ve just completed the top end with new VC gasket job and all the associated hoses and seals per @NLXTACY recommendation, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, fixed the broken heat shields above the exhaust headers, also did the PHH bypass, rear heater bypass (thanks @LandCruiserPhil)
Insulated the AC line, and bundle of wires next to the EGR, (been getting the cylinder 5 misfire code) The VC has been leaking for a long time and everything is a disgusting oily mess, plus it’s full on winter/mud season here so not the best weather to be cleaning things up. I’m just gonna drive it, that’s why a bought it, and keep giving it attention because I enjoy working on it. Hoping the code goes away, so far so good.
Anyway...happy to be back here with all you savages.
Here’s Whitey (maybe I’ll pick a better name?)

New to the forum and the world of 80 series. Second owner new to me in October '19. Been sorting the truck project by project. Had to have the brakes sorted on arrival to pass local inspection, $3k later and all fluids it's been on the road. Full audio upgrade has made driving more enjoyable. I removed the stock roof rack and the new rack arrives this week. Added recovery points yesterday to the older ARB that doesn't have any. Have an electrical update for main engine power and ground cables plus the Slee headlight harness up next.

thanks for a great community.
