Covers are going to be made in GA. Going Saturday for a prototype run and test fit. I should have news Monday. Exams were this week and came up a little faster than expected.

Hope finals went well! Any updates on those covers?

The current manufacture wanted a absurd amount to produce them. I am still actively searching for a GA supplier. I feel like I have one secured and is able to do colored filters. The previous manufacture was not. I should have answers soon.

Thanks! Waiting on these to get mine mounted up.

My buddy picked up a set of the 2x2's from the GB, and made some mounts for them. The idea is to mount them on the headache rack in the box of his truck, so they can be used as cargo lights, reverse lights, and aux driving lights as the need arises.

For those who participated in this group buy. I owe you all a huge thank you. The trip to Africa is on the way, and I could not be happier to see it all come together.

The 80 Series is driven by Chris Brennan. Who is a very close friend of my brother (George) and I. Chris and George fought side by side in Iraq and Afghanistan, I am grateful for Chris, protecting my family and freedom.

I must make a honorable mention...Shane at LabRak...

Shane (AATLAS1X) busted his balls to get his modular rack ready for Chris's 80. Despite the very short time frame, I did not think either company was going to make it in time for Chris's departure. However Shane (LabRak) pulled off the greatest roof rack, and ELS (George and I) designed a lighting system for Chris. Shane and I talked almost everyday and kept each other updated and on each others toes.

LabRak's Modular Roof Racks and the Expedition Lighting Systems LED Lights will be tested over the next year in Africa. The LabRak will carry all the aids, and the ELS lights will provide the lighting to give out the aids.

As for the covers, I am still searching for sources. There are a few in the local area that I have met with and have discussed covers for those in California, and Canada. The design is simple for the covers, however the "setup" fee for the machinery is absurd. Most manufactures want to run a prototype (which is required), however the cost of producing one of the prototypes is several hundred dollars.

The relay harnesses are still in the works, I have been talking with my boss at my 9-5 job (The Retrofit Source) regarding LED harnesses and I am working on the configurations of them right now. I think the best option is to have a engine bay harness that does not extend past the local area of the battery/tap wire and offer 5,7, and 10 foot extension cables to reach either bumper mounted lights, or roof mounted. I am working on a relay separate for rear mounted lights (rear bumper, roof rack) that will tap into the trailer harness or the reverse light socket. The biggest issue right now for the rear mounted lights is how and where one will get the power from. The 10W pods and the 2X2's are able to be powered from the reverse/brake circuit on my 100, however that is not a constant circuit, and I would rather have the power come from the battery rather than through the OEM harness on the truck.

I plan on another group buy soon, so stay tuned. A lot of updates in the next few months :)

If you will please follow (http://safari-expeditions.com). I am sure Chris would appreciate the followings, and comments. Any support on his end is great.

If you would like to order lights and missed this group buy please send me an email at info@expeditionlighting.org , I will be happy to honor the group buy pricing in the first post.

Thank you all,

Nick

Quick question:

Do we really need a relay to wire up a pair of the 2x2 pods? The amp draw is only going to be a little over 1 amp. I plan on using an oem fog light switch.

You do not need a relay harness for the 2X2's, I have them running straight off my OEM fog light harness. You can also tap these into the 100 Series reverse light circuit with no issues (however you may not get full output, they will light up, on the 100 atleast).

email sent.

Got it!

Started out to change the headlight relay to see if it fixed my NO headlight problem, it didn't so I will have to trouble-shoot that one later, but I decided to work on the LED bar install.

I will post better pictures of the modifications to the Rigid mount later, but I was surprised that even if the bar had fit the mount, the mount didn't fit the ARB and would have needed modification anyway.

Nuff of that, here it is rough'd in and hard wired direct to the battery just to see it work.

Just the first of a list of To-Do's to get ready for GSMTR next month.... man it snuck up on me.

So I thought I'd post as few photo's of my LED light project to date..After purchasing the lights from Nick I went in search of someone to build a relay box and switch plate that would be plug and play.. I found Concours Specialties and the owner Greg.. who put together a relay box and built a switch plate that mounted to my front console..
The relay box has a 6ft wire bundle for the roof lights and a 15ft bundle with a connector that plugs into the switch plate ... The only thing I had to do was run a positive and negative wire from my second battery to the relay box which will mount next to the rear drawer slides.. Install the console and cut a whole in the roof... The roof wires will run through waterproof gland and I'm using weatherpack connectors for final connection to the roof rack lights..
Wiring the roof rack was not an easy task but I believe once the rack is back on the truck the area that I ran the wires would be free from any branches that might hit the rack.. I had a chance to test the lights ,switch plate and relay box and it works as promised .. Plug and play ....
I have run the wires from the engine compartment through the grommet on the drivers side fire wall and hopefully Sunday I'll pull my front and middle row seats and get this project finished

This switch panel is great! I maybe contacting Greg at Concours Specialties.

that looks super slick, question for you, is there ample room behind the stock console to mount switches? I am trying to decide whether to have a custom made panel done up or simply cut a hole in the stock console but I have never removed that console and am wondering if there is interference behind it with other components?

thanks,

Noah

As you can see the wiring on the back sticks out more than an inch and it just fits
