DYK...
the 80 series tow loops bolt directly up to the outside rear frame rails. No major pulling or yanking here though. Save that for the 2" hitch. I had them below, but they drag on most obstacles.

Removing your back hatch plastic while servicing a pesky door latch problem on a JDM 81 reveals numbers which correspond to the VIN.
One way to ensure an original vehicle.

Did you know... ...there is a place to store your gas cap on the door that covers the gas filler hole?

More like, "How could you not know?" ...but since I had my Cruiser for most of a year before it occured to me....

It might have been mentioned already, but did you know 1985 pickup hubs bolt right on to '91-92 FJ80 front axles?
Never mind. I think I answered my own question. I would assume 84 and 85 would fit since they were solid axle but the later years would not since they are ifs

DYK, likewise for 60 series hubs? and they're made from solid GOLD!

84-85 minitruck fits, as they are 30 spline. The IFS hubs are 27 spline, and everything except the splined part is the same so they are a good source for parts. You can even bolt the solid axle hubs on an FJZ, if you have the trail gear longfields with two clip positions. Just put the clip in the shorter slot and you are good to go. That said, after the initial novelty wore off, I've had the hubs locked for "normal" full time 4wd operation for months now. https://www.trail-gear.com/TG/Longf...ed/i_0_0_4969/_301720-1-KIT.aspx#.VhkoZise024

Awesome thank you. I have manual hubs on my 89 pickup. I enjoy them on on that truck because the front is spooled so when 4wd is not needed i can utilize low gear with 2wd.

Oh I'm not saying it's a useless mod, 2LO 3FE burnouts are now a possibility! It's also nice to run 2lo in the woods on tight trails where 4wd isn't needed. You can still turn sharp without binding on the boat ramp at slow speeds, it's nice to back up a trailer in 2LO. I think it would be better to do the T-case mod as well if it's something you would use a lot. I just don't use it much, but it is nice to have the option.

I still don't think my 3fe will do burnouts. It seems hit or miss. Some days it runs great others is lack luster at best.

Did you know that pre-shaped hoses come marked in the direction they are to be mounted? They have a dash on one end and a dot on the other.

This hose is leaking because it was fitted backwards, and the shape stressed the join with the rigid pipe. Note that large blue dash, which is supposed to be fitted against the heater selector valve.

If you are trying to kill the bottle there is an over heating thread around here somewhere.
I am definitely trying to kill the bottle tonight. Just dropped off my baby for a front axle reseal, bearings, and brakes! My DD, so couldn't afford to screw around. Big hit to the savings; bumpers and lift have to wait. Worst part is having to borrow my buddys Heep for 3 days. My 10 year old said I should park around the block from the school and just act like we are walking home!
