Japanese Industrial Standard as far as I know

What does JIS stand for and why is this relevant? I'm still learning.
JIS screws are different. The many stories you read of people striping screws is they are using a standard screw driver and not JIS. our 80's are loaded with them.

I have owned two fj40's and now have two years of 80 time under my belt and never had problems with my Philips screw driver which may be why I had to ask. Thanks

I've had problems a few times stripping screws. My new set of drivers took care of it permanently.

Is the screwdriver in the toolkit JIS? I thought all the screws were, so assumed it was, but now that I know some are not I don't know what to think.

I too would be interested to see if the camry window motors fit.

I am definitely trying to kill the bottle tonight. Just dropped off my baby for a front axle reseal, bearings, and brakes! My DD, so couldn't afford to screw around. Big hit to the savings; bumpers and lift have to wait. Worst part is having to borrow my buddys Heep for 3 days. My 10 year old said I should park around the block from the school and just act like we are walking home!
F&*%, My passenger side drive flange and axle spline were stripped!

Ouch!!! I feel your pain and wish it wasn't so

Did you know that pre-shaped hoses come marked in the direction they are to be mounted? They have a dash on one end and a dot on the other.

This hose is leaking because it was fitted backwards, and the shape stressed the join with the rigid pipe. Note that large blue dash, which is supposed to be fitted against the heater selector valve.

I got my LC in 2008 and have had this problem and now I know why. Thank you very much!!!!

Figured this one out on my own, after paying lc prices for a door handle. Looks like the shifter knob is the same as well. Has anyone tried the window motors from a camry?
What shift knob will work for us what shift knob will work for us 80 series guys

When I purchased my steering will cover from wheel skins, I got an extra chunk a leather. I remove the weather off the original shift knob and I am about to cut the new leather and so on brand-new leather. However, if I could snag in a bath of a Camry or any other Toyota I would be interested.

Which shift knob?

Not sure when they started or stopped. Just know I don't have to pull a piece of plastic on mine.

Pretty sure the 91-92 had the button, the 93-97 had a plug that had to be removed, but the button can be installed in the later years, it's just a spring loaded plunger...

Hey NLXTACY. I may have missed something after reading this whole thread. Where does one find all the information you have collected?
