Rain delay. No siding on the Meade Hall today..🤬

After ticking off a couple Honey Do’s this AM, I put my feet up and started flipping through some ideas for door cards. I was wandering aimlessly through one of @JohnnyC old threads circa 2014, Trim Code ... Post up what you have - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/trim-code-post-up-what-you-have.824425/ looking for inspiration. The thread is a good read, there are some interesting combo’s.

FA31 was a Saudi (80’s) LX w/ a paint code of 202. Factory Black paint with red white interior. I think there were a couple of JDM models with a similar code. Fact checks welcome in the event I’ve misconstrued the info. Member here on mud has a Saudi Spec with that pattern. @kreativecid

Anyway, said all that to say this, the FA31 factory door card pattern caught my eye. Thinking about reproducing that look/pattern with the MGV in brown I used on the seats with a black MGV insert or vice versa. Kinda giving a wink and a nod to the
factory pattern with a Mule 2.0 twist.

Anyway, just kicking the can on a rainy day.

Believe it's FB41 in Japan: Trim Code ... Post up what you have - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/trim-code-post-up-what-you-have.824425/page-3#post-12683088

Lifted again from @JohnnyC..😎

Thought this was interesting too. 80’s JDM courtesy of @Economist LC76

FB41 (1982-84; Japan; BJ42V; zebra interior with the rear jump seats). Noted the Ambi door cards, the brown(?) floor mat and some interesting fender well treatments. The rest of the world had some “unique” options.

Again, rainy day poking around on the interwebs.

Those belong to the shop. But, from watching how easy they are to maneuver, I’d say it would be money well spent.
I don't have a set personally but @matzell has a couple of sets and I think he would say worth it hands down.

Are you happy with those Dollie’s? Been seeing them more and more. Thinking still of getting a set
I have a set (2) of the "Go Jacks" in the large size, and other set of the HF ones. Both made well, HF copied the GJ's but with small wheels, both seam to work well. It works great to get things into position if in a tight spot or if they do not run. HF has theirs on sale at times for $99 each and if you buy 4, you get the stand free. I did buy their stand, well worth it imo. Helps keep them together in a smaller footprint.

Those cards look great with that seat color.

Dialing in the fit…I think it’s going to work. The Hause Frau and dictator for life said “it looks like it’s ready for a safari”. I’m gonnna call that good.

I spent a month one week waiting on parts. Absolutely 100% self inflicted sucking head wound on the last parts order..🤯

Grande Meade Hall is a little behind due to the rain delay. Some progress today though. Should be slinging nails on siding Monday AM. Hex head - Antifreeze - hubcap…

Looking really good. Smooth and tight.
Last year I had the great pleasure of meeting @antFJ as he was passing through my own hinterland. We have a KFC …so I met him in the parking lot to buy some heater parts. His FJ40 top was one of the best fitting soft tops I had seen in my 51 years of Land Cruiser. It fit perfectly everywhere. Not a wrinkle or stretch, the clips and zipper lines were square and did not pull the top.

As we were chatting, he told me he had made the top himself. I found this amazing… it’s not his business it’s his passion. I have known some fine gentlemen wearing well-made custom Italian suits that could pale by the way this top was placed ( think Godfather types)

Not sure about hamlet you’re located in the Land of Nod. But the next 5 days in the near fully paved “Garden State” is going to be a nip & dram from100*.
You sure about slinging nails?🍻

@knuckle47

Supposed to be a little cooler here, low to mid 90’s in the land of Nod 🙄. I’m only tossing a couple days a week at this. Also, I’m following closely the Geezer Work Prime Directive: No member of the Geezers Guild will put forth more than four hours effort on any given work day. So, it’s slow going..

I’ll check out @antFJ for inspiration. My stitching capabilities kinda tops out at old sock repair.

I’m gonna need to join that Geezers Guild. I didn’t know the rules for that 4 hour work period. Worked on this yesterday instead of a baby oil massage for my recently returned FJ40
This set of decking steps were supposed to go in back in January…Mrs 47 wanted to try and finish this project up before summer….
Well today is June 21. Too late! That Geezer card could have saved me a few hours of forced labor😉

Late arrivals…Unpacked and added. Everything but the door handles which are inbound out of Tejas. USPS couldn’t make the original time hack. Looks like Tuesday for delivery. Maybe.

If the planets align 2.0 will be making the trek south Tomorrow afternoon…

Tossing in a Meade Hall photo op. 4 hour work day was in effect today as the wet bulb was off the chart @ 95* and humidity was sub tropical.

Looking good! I would drink there. 🍻

Well this fall, if all goes well and you’re feeling footloose and fancy free, you could come visit the Meade Hall. Full disclosure, there’s no power, water or anything resembling indoor facilities….Yet.

That keeps the weak minded, overly pampered non-meat eaters at bay. 😉

I’d pass out on that front lawn.

I see some trees... maybe I could crash there

USPS delivers…

Door handles are installed. 2.0 is loaded and headed south for a rendezvous with the BG. I’ll post up pics later..

The end of PH II.

2.0 made it back to the land of NOD today. Ingress to the BG completed with 2.0 taking up residence in the center stall. Completed a three mile jaunt around the hood to test the PS and AC. Early indications are very good.

Headed to the mountains in the AM IOT take in some lake fishing and beat the heat (97* here today). I’ll post up a review when I get back.
