Can you rivet on the original pad support? Looks like it's getting close to done with mock up. What's left?
Cut gauges, ashtray, switches, steering column finalize, gas pedal and linkage, Front turn signals, Front apron emblems and the bin hinge pedestal. Almost ready to go to body/paint.

Alex at RCLC has a gift.

We went round and round over a spacing issue with the tank/tank cover and the seat mounting brackets. So how do you work through the height issue, needed about 3/4”, with the stock rear seat mounts? Spacers? Nah, you make new ones. More on this…

LC algebra, solving for “X”. What you do to one side, you do to the other. Driver seat front left seat mount massaged to fit.

@Chungas Revenge i love the idea Of fabricating those brackets. I feel guilty that I used spacers made of 1” box tubing… now I am pulling them out and going to remake the brackets. I was never into cutting and welding but had a Miller Thunderbolt stick in the garage for 30+ years that I used twice until I started trying to build a bbq smoker… damn, I actually got good at it. This was the last smoker I made last month 😂

All credit goes to the craftsman at RCLC…BTW, nice smoker..😁

The Aq bib is a “wee bit” shorter than an OE. Assuming this is a trade off to match the Aq fenders. As a result, the bib hinge will not work unless you modify it. @Jdc1 and I discussed numerous options. This is what they came up with. The slopping/angled sides will have a better visual line vice just a square “spacer”. It takes your eye up to the hinge.

1st pic I pirated from another MUD member (Thanks @secretsquirrel) for reference. Stock hinge in the normal mounting position.
2nd-3rd pic is a mock-up of the proposed mounting pedestal for the OE hinge.

I'm just throwing this out there cause idk. What if you raised the rear of the tub with a spacer and allowed the tub pivot on the cowls body mount to try and minimize the spacer in the frt.

IDK either. Not sure how that would work or what that would do to the geometry/body lines. Body is currently sitting on the Energy Suspension poly mounts. The Aq bib is an issue with all the “swaps”. In researching I’ve seen some “novel fixes”. To me, this solution is the least obtrusive visually and is the less intrusive to my “old man needs a hunting trip fund”..😁

These two are gravity feed cabinet smokers. The red one was waaay too big for us so I gave it to a friend. Had to weight near 650 lbs.

Finally, this one is a smaller version of the big red one. A column of lump charcoal will last about 12-14 hours and with a great controller, will be near 5 degress of set temperature hours and hours on end…

Very nice work…👍👈

@Chungas Revenge is the aluminum looking block on the left an air conditioner vent or a gauge mount? Looking great!
