Tossing out a lot of updates to give you an idea of what’s involved with swapping out to an Aq.
There are some mods to the HT and some other small tweaks that I’ll post up later.

Making good progress.

Opted for a dual setup on the hood prop. Seems like the single rod was always in the way and tossing the hood up on the rain gutter produced the inevitable obligatory “racing stripe”.

The small white rubber ones? Mounts on the rain gutter?
Yes sir.

I ditched the prop rod long ago, it adds up to another needless rattle. Just flop the hood up and roll.

The little rubber stopper is for us po folk. Of course, the Mule V2.0 is much to fancified for such simplistic and antiquated devices. ;)

I use one of those and keep a spare in the console. That hood prop is/was just in the way. Remember my painter who didn’t paint??? He lost my hood prop along the way. I should have just ditched it then.

We’ll see how this goes. 🍺

Thank you for the detailed pictures of the Aqualu swap. There are a lot of things I never considered that you’ve shown.

Also great build.

Thanks. Gotta give all credit to the guys at RCLC. Doing great work and they’re really awesome to work with.
I think at the end of this, I’ll try and sit down with @Jdc1 and do an overview/punch list of things that popped up on this build. From the mundane, needs massaging to the re-engineered..

We are close to wrapping up the mock/up and metalwork chapter(a little less than halfway done with the project).

I’ll get the details and pics organized on what was needed to get the HT and doors mated to the Aqualu tub into a dedicated thread. There wasn’t anything that needed a fire extinguisher but my team’s level of experience made it look relatively easy. I can see if being a challenge for a first timer.

We didn’t notice that the majority of the builds that use the Aqualu Cowl also use a softop until we started researching the wonkey door gap.

To bib or not to bib.

Aq fender to Aq bib fit was better than the OE bib to Aq fender. Just the nuances of the OE and Aq. But, there are some challenges using the Aq bib. You know what a pain lining up body panels is. Pretty sure child labour and a Ouija board was used at the factory.

The Aq bib is a “tad bit shorter” than the stock so the front hinge requires tweaking. Final solution is forthcoming.

Some of the differences in the Aq cowl and the OE cowl. It’s cosmetic. but for the visually inclined it’s something you’ll need to address. More on this later.

Adding the OE tire carrier. I went back and forth on the 4plus carrier. In end, opted for a stock-ish look (as stockish as you can get with an aluminum tub😁). On the “Son of Mule” saga, that’s a Mule of a different color…🤔

Note there no “dimple” at the rear tub for the ambi door latch plate. It sits flush on the rear of the tub. My hinges are going to need a little massaging as well.
