It’s always the small things.

Didnt get too involved with much of anything today. Found a sleeper. I remembered, via the way back, putting in an aftermarket PCV while the original took a soak. Checked it today. Auto parts store grommet gave up the ghost. I have a new Toyota replacement coming USPS.

Interesting comparison of the two PCVs. I think the natural inclination was to toss these and put in a ”new” PCV (IE cheaper) but, there really is no comparison to the two units. I’m not savvy enough to know if there are better alternatives to the auto part store replacement(s) out there.

Did a little shopping on the inter-webs.

There is nothing ever simply accomplished on a TLC. Changing the air freshener can lead
to a complete restoration, credit card debt and psychosis. So with past mission creep in mind and my therapist recommendation, I’m going to be as proactive as I possibly can. The Mule, on more than one occasion, has put up a defense worthy of a statue on “Iwo”. I picked up a REMFLEX gasket in anticipation of any delaying tactics via the manifold Banzai. Also picked up some ”smalls” from McMaster-Carr intended for future amphibious operations post Sniper installation.

Giving Rick, from down roun‘ Hot-Lanta, due credit for the waterproofing idea. Take a bow @GA Architect

But, the real mission creep starts with the brake booster. Yep, I’ve got a “ big fatty ”...<<that should be good for a new thread in chat.

Just from eyeballing (it’s calibrated), I can see the linkage for the 2300 and the MC will not cooperate let alone function in the same space.

Looks like I’m up for a new booster and a new MC...80 series non ABS MC? How about a good candidate for a booster?

The Toyota universe gives and takes. Today it smiles....

The realization that I’m in for a new MC and booster forced a Course of Action change. New contingency planning around DUI installation, mock-up FP and filters/lines/fittings, MC/booster conversion then Sniper install. Just playing out my current hand.

Early morning check of the Inter-nets reveal a Davis Unified inbound:bounce:. It gets better. VM from sunny Burbank, indicates my new transplant(s) will be buttoned up soonly. May need to drive out and pick them up. 😁
Last, but not least, the Walbro inline FP is on a fast train via FedEx.

One small package did arrive for the battery tray and front bib.

So, looks like the great convergence is in motion.....

PS, your carb solenoid is ignition +12volts.
Just going back through my notes. Good tip...!!

Did you repurpose the connector and integrate it into the wiring on the HS 2300 harness?

Why isn’t @Coolerman running for public office!!?
If you’d seen a picture of his workshop you’d know:

Its SO BRIGHT in there that he’d be a solo act. None of the cockroaches masquerading as politicians could come near him!

Not to derail, but curious on your thoughts between second and first focal plane optics. I know all the pros and cons of both, just curious on your opinion. Parameters: as close as 100 yards but routinely 500-800 and as far as 1000. Hunting.

You didn't ask me, but my two cents.

I wouldn't even know how to use anything other than FFP scope. I'd be running off of guesses instead of using a known hold. Dialing works when it works, but you don't always have time.

Vortex Razor HD gen3, Nightforce atacr are about the top of the pile right now. There's some other good options I can't think of right now.

I shoot NRL22, ranges are 25 yards to 600 yards at big matches. 600 is a loooong poke with a sub sonic 22.

Usually, where I’m bear hunting, I’ll either be in a small cut and dialed in to 150 yards or less, or a big alpine meadow where they lazily meander out. So I should have time…. Should. I have only ever used SFP and my complaint was always the moving reticle being inconsistent so I never used the marks for holdover, always just knew my yardage drop and guessed.
I’m looking at the Maven RS.3…. I’ve been looking for awhile and haven’t worked up the courage to buy.

600 w/a 22 sub is a very long poke indeed.........

I’m all in. Give me twenty dollars worth of your 2 cents. This subject is like asking a TLC owner what’s his favorite tire size. o_O You get a lot of answers, no two are the same and there is no wrong answer. In fact, I think this is one of the top three hunting camp subjects of all time. The other two being who makes the best beanie weenie followed by why I love or hate the .270 WIN.

I’m a FFP baby from a time before time before time. But, I gotta say, 2FP has a place in the tool box. Matched/zeroed with the right cartridge, 2FP scopes are really nice pieces of glass. My NF MOAR-T is a 2FP. <<Top drawer. I have a couple Rudolph Optics in 2FP that are, IMHO, excellent optics for taking care of business in the eastern woodland hunting environment.

Having said all of that, without hesitation, FFP is my go to if “there can be only one” , and for me, MOA is my favorite flavor...

I have a couple bucket list combos that I hope to stretch the legs on before the crosshairs get to thin to see. All in FFP.

All except the 2FP Leupold EER on a 45-70....🙄

@65swb45 I was going to reply as to why Coolerman hasn’t run for office. But you nailed it. Carry on

What do you have against cockroaches?

Some have gone on to distinguished careers as Congressmen, Senators or voting members of the Democratic Caucus.
💩💩💩👈😎.

Disclaimer: No cockroaches were harmed during the fabrication of this commentary.

That is the way I did it. Color matched wire from coolerman.

Wouldn’t happen to have the part number of the color matched wire/connector for a veteran down on his luck would you?

No part number. Emailed coolerman from his website. Asked for the connector and 12 inches of pink wire.
You might want more wire depending on where you decide to mount the sniper relays. Mine are on the drivers side.

Rog. Will do.That looks like a factory solution.
