Compliments of @Racer65. I boosted your photo(s) for illustration...

In all my Cruiser years never have I seen that. Not one rig. Wow!

Thanks, but I claim no credit. I picked this up from other forum members too. Try these as well. SOR product (page 106). Helps cut down on the 40 series acute door rattle syndrome.

Has anyone seen that part #68192A (packing) shown in the diagram above at the rear of the door opening? Never knew about that one... Also will these work with the earlier syle (pre 75) doors/tub?

added today..In conjunction with the other "bits", my doors are nice and tight. Still a little window shake, but that's a for another time :)

Starting on the Con-Ferr console re-hab. Cover and foam still in working condition. Backer board not so much..

The Con-Ferr console was harboring a PO installed welded plate on the bottom. I ground down the welds and used a reciprocating saw to liberate it...

Finished with the padded cushion. Used 1/2" plywood instead of 1/4". I just need to clean it up.

1/2" is twice as better than 1/4"

Indeed...

Waiting to have the front-end aligned from the TRE installation. Possibly Knocking this out Sunday..

2nd coat on the Con-Ferr...Also, I cut some padding for the removable bottom. Going to cover it with black marine grade vinyl next week. Started sanding on the main console too.

Spent some time adding new cotter pins to the shocks. Took some pictures of the under carriage (note the original mounts). Frame is in pretty solid condition. But, it presents a problem. My original time-line is out of whack with addressing the tub. My band-aide should get me through at least 1-2 seasons. The frame on the other hand should be a target of interest before that. Trying to think outside the box. More than one "old timer" I've talked with recommended "Boiled Linseed Oil" as a preservative. I went to look at a tractor (frame) that has been preserved with this method...C-L-E-A-N...! Another suggested adding a few ounces of used motor oil (Dino) to the linseed oil. A cursory search brought up some interesting facts on linseed oil as a preservative in the 20's/30's/40's..I think I'm going to round up some plate steel and conduct a little experiment. The mule has been in dry dock for so long the frame and under-body are relatively dry now...

If I take the body off the frame gets a make-over too. So, I'm just kick'en a can..

@JohnnyC - What do ya think..?
