Arnt tailights optional in WV?

Now, you are from Ohio and your poke'n fun at me? That's like your couzin' calling your sister fat "after" he brings her back from the prom...:D

Chungas R,your truck looks great :) .Any significant difference before and after alignment?Did you specify how much toe in you want at the alignment shop?Beautifull day yesterday here in TX so I took mine for a ride...what a feeling!!

before and after

Hard to say on the before and after. I only had to limp a 1/4 mile or so to the "Vet". Pay dirt on the toe-in was 0.14. Bad news, Caster is at -1. In my slow motion putz around the airfield I didn't notice anything. In fact comparatively speaking it drove like "New"..I'll take it for a highway jaunt later this weekend. I may need a set of 2/3 degree shims. I'll know for sure after I measure the drive line angle later in the week.

Some of the new kit trickling in.

Rear harness and fog light harness made it all the way from "Paint-lick". Thanks for the speedy turn around Mark @Coolerman. Thanks for paying extra attention to the tail lights as well. Everything looks top notch...

Truly...

Been around the world once or twice, had drinks with a Nun in Thailand, watched goats mate in the market place In Africa and caught some rays on Bondi..:meh: That harness is impressive...

I literally sent a ball of mangled unrecognizable wire down to KY...What came back is "objet d'art"...

You should see his assessment of my harness. Basically if I would have powered it up my rig would have burned the neighborhood to the ground.

burned the neighborhood

LOL - :lol::lol::lol:

Got it..! You are going to like the product. Had him wire in a four pin connector as well for my trailer...1st class!!

I think it comes from his West Virginian fatalistic view of life.

I was afraid to power it up when I first got it! After I removed all the "mystery" wiring, and the hacks, then un-taped it, then replaced all the rusted fuses, I was finally confident it would power up without smoking itself! It will be finished this weekend!

Your truck is looking good! I'll let the comment about us Paint Lickers slide since you are from WV! :grinpimp: We hillbillies gotta stick together against all those flat landers!

I finalized my design for the "trailer converter add-on when building a new rear chassis harness" using your harness!
Curt makes an excellent POWERED tail light converter (Model 56146) that uses battery power on a separate wire and relays to power the trailer lights. No diodes! This means the trailer lights are as BRIGHT as they can be because they are not being robbed of .7 volts like the diode converters use. It also means the FJ40 lights are as bright as they normally are instead of being dimmed by the extra trailer lights. However it does mean the harness has to have two extra 14ga wires added to it to provide the power to the converter and trailer.

I even used this converter to make a 1969 truck with a 1974 main cowl harness (which normally has the later FJ40 three way tail lights connected to it), work with a 1969 rear chassis harness and round lights!

Post some pics once you get the rear harness installed!
