More... Thanks to @12 Parsecs for the help yesterday... got tons done. Roof, hood and front end all went on. Came with 3 bolts and no rubbers on the roof, now has 9 bolts and 4 rubbers up there. Washed it and it no water inside... watertight!!

Engine is running great.... trust me, I was cussing all those that pushed me toward fuel injection when I was doing the harness, but now, it just purrs....

Reset the ODO and my son paints miniatures, so he cleaned up the trip numbers.

Finally, went to put the spare tire on and the under bed chain hoist would not move freely, so started some electrolisis... SCIENCE>..

on the chop.. well. Don't get over stimulated like i did and cut an extra inch off! Once you are done getting the spot welds off and the front of the bed pops off, stop for the night.. !

Did you end up installing the 3 seal strips like in your photo?

The truck is looking good!

It is a shame you even have to cut up a perfectly fine bed in the first place.

Edit: previous lame joke deleted.

Darn, I forgot to get a picture of that.

I was able to look at my 73 series and could see it. So, on the sides, first off, the wide part down, NOT like in my picture. Also, they go down lower, down by the door seal. see the purple arrow... that is where it starts and it goes to the front with a similar spot. This really appears to be more for looks, as it will not make a complete seal. The upper ring seal is what waterproofs the whole thing.

On the front, it goes the same direction I have it there, but on the lower lip surface. I put mine centered left to right with about 3/4 hanging over on each side. See red arrows below, that is where it goes.

Perfect! Thanks.

I love electrolysis!!! How often can you get your parts rust free And unseized in a short amount of time while you’re doing something else.
So I got home and walked up to the bucket and this is what I saw

Took the part out and washed it really good and this is what it look like

At that point I was able to take it apart wire brush the internal mechanism grease the snot out of it and put it back together

Well I’m 6 ‘2”and it’s about the smallest as I want to be. Not too uncomfortable, but definitely not good for a long road trip.
Great work!

that video just confirms to me being 6’5” there is zero chance I’d be comfortable in there

Try to take a picture of the gaskets for you all

Bedtime for bonzo.... The first step was to figure out exactly how best to use the cutter in the corner as I could not get the drill close enough to the corner, even my right angle drill.... so decided to use sockets and an extension.
Pilot hole drilled....

I didn’t quite have the bracket underneath fully drilled.... that is what was giving me problems. Done now...

So from the front side of that bracket that @coldtaco mentioned, it is 23.5" to the OEM bed bottom. If we cut off 4" that is 19.5". He said 19.25" ,..... So, if I cut to 19.25" that would mean that I would cut 4.25" off.
