The bottom half would be a huge help! If it’s in good shape. You can see mine is rusted clear through and bent out of shape. If you’re interested in a sale please send me a message. I would greatly appreciate some photos.
Thank you very much!!

My kid might be able to pick it up in Helena and get it over here Dan. She is back and forth every weekend.

It took a few months and a lot of learning but I am pretty happy with the way the steering wheel turned out. It’s surely a lot better than it was!! lol
Check that off the list and on the next. I can see light at the end of the tunnel.
…… hopefully it stays there. 😂😂

please share your process if possible. It looks great. Many could benefit from knowing how to do it. Thanks!

Here comes a few long winded posts. For Everyone asking how I restored my steering wheel. It may have not been the best way but it seems to be working and looks like a new wheel to me!! Below are photos of before. I had about 13 cracks to work with. And a large section that was just flacking off. Along with a ton of hairline cracks

At first I tried to fill them with epoxy as I have seen that online. Unfortunately after sanding and then letting sit in the sun I was able to determine the epoxy either didn’t cure properly or didn’t mix properly. It was flexible and would expand. Which then exposed the crack.

I sprayed a few layers of high build primer on to try and fill the hairline cracks but also bring out the imperfection as little more. Also after this I took a Dremel tool and dug out the cracks clear down to the metal rod inside. While doing this I tried to undercut the crack to allow epoxy to grab under the plastic a little more. This is where I photos began to lack but I used a faster curing epoxy that had the mixing g nozzle. Obviously disposed of the first few seconds of epoxy as it’s not the best or most consistent mixture then filled the crack and used a small pick to help it get everywhere. In a warm shop the epoxy flowed very well. I wrapped it in painters tape to hold it and some what shape it after this was done the next day I took that off sanded everything down and used some medium weight CA glue to fill any small pockets that were created. Again sanded after this and applied more as needed. This was a long process to get it close as possible.

then put thin layers of bondo to feather these areas back to shape. This also took some time. Having the high build primer around these areas also helped while sanding so that I wouldn’t sand into the raw material. After I felt it was close I hit it with primer and sanded a handful of times with 1500 grit or around there. At least that seemed to work good with this primer. Did that until it seemed perfect. Again I let it sit in the sun for a day and in the shop for a few weeks to see if any lines showed up. Once I felt comfortable I sprayed with a glossy black and then topped it with clear coat.

I hope that is enough Information for anyone looking to try it. It took a lot of hours. But it’s hard to beat the way it turned out.

Nice job on the steering wheel! I might have to try fixing one of mine.

I just noticed your window regulators are upside down.
That is soo funny!! Thanks for the sharp eye!! Can’t believe I have been overlooking that all this time. they sure are upside down!!
Top of my list now!

I did the same thing years ago. If I remember correctly I think the arm on the regulator with the wheel would come out of the track that is secured to the glass.
