That'd be great if I could stop by and get a rear bumper installed leading up to the trip
A bumper is on my list as well if I'm able to pull the trigger by then! Time will tell.

Duggy/Get Outside - there is a BIOR bumper group buy going on right now! 10% discount.

The family and I are going to try and make this happen. It's a cool 4000 mile round trip from central PA.

I drove through the area and traced some of the tracks from last years event when I drove my newly purchased 100 from CA back to PA a few months ago. Was solo then, and would love to return with the whole crew while the whole 100-series crew is there!

When will registration open? Looks like it'll be a sell out crowd!

I'm in, looking forward to the registration so I can lock it in.

Great question. The plan is to have a registration system up and running for HIH on March 1. Of course, Mud will be updated with that info as will the FB page. Glad to see the excitement already beginning for this year.

As much as I want to make this trip again this year, it's not going to happen. We are expecting #3 right about the same time. Wonder if she will mind....no. She will.

Anyone have any firsthand recommendations on hotels in Ouray?

Wife is probably making the trip with me this year, and she's no camper...

You might give the Twin Peaks a try. South end of town, close to the trails and walking distance to all of downtown. I think there is one called the Chateau, across the street from the Twin Peaks. I have not stayed there but some friends have and said it was nice.

Slee Offroad, who has been a big supporter of 100s in the Hills has 100 Series rear bumpers ready to go as well.

Greg...... Congrats! We will miss you guys this year!

What's the cutoff for registration? 50?

35 (this may change)

My wife and I have stayed here a few times and liked it. It's more of a couples place rather than a family spot, or at least it was when we used to stay. Only 15-20 minutes from camp in Ridgway. Ouray has a few nice spots too.

Heck yes. A half dozen weekend and one week a year there. I love the Twin Peaks Lodge and the Box Canyon Lodge. Both have great hotsprings and clean, simple rooms. Tell them I sent you ;)

If you are looking for an upscale, historic hotel, check out the Beaumont. No kids aloud there.

Also, check out VRBO for vacation condos and houses. Lots to choose from.

Trip Advisor is pretty accurate for Ouray.

I think Jon's Adrenaline Camper is still up for grabs?

Oh hold, it might be sold but Its not quite there, winter just a bad time to sell. The Taj Maharris might just be on the market still.

We stayed at Twin Peaks last year since we had our 5 and 3 year olds + my wife was 3 months pregnant with our 3rd little guy!
We recommend it. Nice clean, simple room, close to camp and trails. Fair price, natural spring pool + jacuzzi for the end of the day!

Great to see all the early interest. Looking forward to it!

Looks like we will have a couple families coming up from Oklahoma! Looking forward to it!

Another motel I would recommend is the Comfort Inn in Ouray. It is about 2 blocks north of the Twin Peaks, and about a block and a half west of the main drag. Clean rooms, reasonably priced, very helpful management, free breakfast. We stayed there back in September and I would stay there again, no problem.

In the past, we have rented a cabin at the Ouray KOA, a nice compromise between camping out and staying in a motel. The KOA is a short distance north of town, the management is friendly and the campground itself has always been a quiet environment.

Something else to keep in mind is that there are plenty of places to rent a shower over the weekend. There are showers at the Hot Springs pool and both the main gas stations/motels. It's only $4 or $5. Clean shower rooms, private stalls, locker room style.

This only applies if you're on the fence about camping, it doesn't really make it any more glamorous. ;)

"The Taj Maharris" LOVE IT!

Google Drive

Wasnt sure if anyone was subscribed to the 3rd Annual HIH thread, so I figured this would be the best place to start!

SOMEONE (not mentioning names, because the next step would be a proper tar and feathering) decided to treat the public google drive as their own, hop on, and delete thousands of photos from last year's event

I've spent tonight working through recovery and building new folders to restore the bulk of them. Others (that were deleted 1 by 1) take about a minute each, and at my count there are about 400 left to go.

With that being said, if you havent done so already, go ahead and hop on to browse, select, download, etc whatever pictures you want JUST DONT DELETE OR RESTRICT ACCESS TO THEM.

I plan on leaving the 3rd annual photos up until this year's event, then its out with the old and in with the new!

PS: Thanks to all of the collaborators - we were able to get some GREAT shots of not only the scenes we didnt capture, but also of us wheeling :steer:

I was on there about a week ago and noticed there was a very limited number of pics. I used some of them for our video but pickings were very slim.
