Hi everyone! Have been visiting this site for about 7 months now (just about from when I got my first 40) for fun and inspiration!

This is my very first post so be patient w me! If I post things on the wrong section let me know and I'll change it around!

Great to see all the projects going on out there!

I'm from Brazil and have been living in the Central Coast CA for the past 7 years. I'm big on old VWs but sold my last bus back in may and bought a 74 fj40 in really good condition!

The truck has a '65 283 chevy. The original owner did the swap a few months after he got it new in 74!I'm the 4th!

Always wanted one down in Brazil where 4x4 is huge but the rigs are a crazy amount of $$$! You guys know, we have the Bandeirante down there! Great truck! Almost got one last time I went to visit my dad!

Anyways, this is my rig.

Since I got it: Like my friends say "because I can't leave anything alone"

Replaced the fuel lines

Did all fluids

Replaced the starter (it went out 3 weeks after I bought the truck)

Cleaned the inside of the tub, got rid of some nasty tar on the front floors that were covering surface rust, some surface rust on the bed as well

Cleaned it all up, bead blasted couple of spots

Bed liner the inside of tub

Overhauled the gas tank and bed liner on the outside of it

Bead blasted and painted the seat tracks and brackets

Fresh paint on the roll bar

Put it all back together!

Current projects::beer:

Building my own center console/locking box and modifying a truck tool box into a slider drawer system to go on the back w camping gear.

ok pics (hope they load ok)

What's the deal with loading pictures? I tried to load some more last night but I could only get 3!
How does it work?
Thanks

Nice rig and welcome you need to buy a silver star to post more pics. Keep it up and welcome to the sickness!!!:steer:

Purchase a silver star and all your questions will be answered (and unlimited pics). Seriously, it is well worth the money for the support and advice you'll get here. I don't subscribe to any other website except this one.

Love the Rustic Green cruiser. Welcome to MUD.

welcome to mud! the ammo box on the back is somethinng different. is it welded or bolted to the tire carrier, or is it attached right to the hinges? if you keep it, you may want to think about where to keep a spare.

You can also post pics to any number of online sites, photobucket, etc, and link them to your post if you don't want to commit to a 1 year relationship with a star yet...

Once you get involved I think the $20 for a star is far outweighed by potential savings based on sage advice from the forum.

Ok thanks, I'll do that and then post pics of the other stuff I've been doing!

The ammo box is bolted to a pair of bracket on the swinging LH door! I really like it! The spare is on the other one(RH).

Now that I got a little star next to the name here we go!:)

That bag hanging down from the garage roof was due to the sandblasting I was doing and that crap gets everywhere! Didn't want my garage looking like the body shop at work!

Did the $60 gallon of duplicolor bed liner and rolled in the garage after a lot of cleaning inside the tub! Not the best out there but it works for me! Its big chunk of $$ to do the spray stuff!

My center console

Here are some pics of the center console I'm building. I first made myself a model out of cheep board to make sure the size would be alright then started cutting sheet metal!
