Maybe sacrilegious but my hood was sad and wanted to be dressed up a bit. So....some quick CAD work based on some internet pictures and a quick print and she has now has the start of some new bling!

CAD:

Split in two with puzzle piece ends so it fits on the print bed:

And test fit unpainted part on the hood:

needs some finish work/paint but I think it looks better than holes in the hood. Old 40 feels a bit more special now...

So...bring on the mockery!

I love it!

So what filament, printer etc. thanks.
I just have an Ender3pro at home that I run cheap Amazon Hatchbox PLA on for test fit parts. If it is something important, I have access to state of the art production level printers at work. Now that I know my model I made from internet pictures fits, I will probably print a solid one in one piece (bigger printer) out of ABS or Nylon and paint it nice and pretty to make it look metal... I can also print Stainless steel and Titanium at work but that would defeat the purpose of being cost effective.....

totally cool, add it here if you aren’t trying to make a buck off it
