Steve great job l, gathering that info is going to be very usefulIf you have an original 2F in your 40 or 55, please post up your engine serial number, and the month/year of your truck build and the vin if you would. I am trying to complie 2F year data.

It’s been a while since I’ve updated this post and the spreadsheet, so I figured it was time.
Are you sure this is the original engine? Based on the other data in the spreadsheet it would appear that that engine is from the middle of January 78, which I guess is possible for your build date but somewhat odd. Where are you located? That may help explain.
This would appear to be a January of 1978 2F.
That is good data for the VIN number, but does not include the 2F engine serial number.
It is interesting that your VIN is only 401 units from aaronedaniel’s. But your engine is 1,311 units from his. Likewise your VIN is only 647 units from HappyGilmore, but your engine is 2,434 units from his. Solid Dec. 1976 though.

Yours is probably a Nov-Dec 1976, which would be a 1977 model year.

The subject of this thread is 2F engines, not transmissions, so you may want to post your question elsewhere to get some responses/opinions.
Thanks Onur, we don’t have a lot of FJ60 data so that is appreciated. Because yours has a date it is the highest point on the graph as of today and shows well how the production tapers off on or around 1985.

I updated the file with these latest entries. It's looking pretty good, we have a good curve going. I still wish we had more input for 1980s model years, which the 60 series folks could provide.
