The specs actually show two audio systems so I would guess no car play. Sorry, I thought I had something fun to contribute to this forum.

See? No problem!
I would suggest temporarily installing this while you work though, since trips to the bathroom might make you forget where one or all of the 143 parts you remove belong when you try to put it back together... ;)

In other words... I’m with @bloc on this one. :hillbilly::cheers:
Problems with yours? or just took it apart to see how it works?

Seeing that refrigerant line running along the driver's right leg should make anyone drilling into the side of the console for anything nervous..

IIRC his fan quit working. I had the same problem on my '11. After seeing Markuson's photos, I happily paid my dealer $300 to fix it.

@bloc ...I’m a curious guy, but it definitely wasn’t just curiosity. Digging down “simply” to replace the $35 fan. 😳The opening of the refrigerant was a baaad mistake... :) But in the end it prompted me to fully empty and properly recharge the AC...which ended up making it practically shootice-cubes compared to before.

But as photos show...It’s NOT a simple system at all. Holy cow. Quite robust and effective...but extremely integrated...
I didn’t even dig all the way down...so for full removal, my mess is nothing by comparison.

And a **steal** of a service deal you got.

I would have gladly paid that and more. What a pain... I’dWagerthe dealer wishes they had quite youmore as well. :)

I wonder why both options are listed on that sheet. I checked the website and saw no mention of CarPlay, I wasn’t expecting to see it but it would have been a pleasant surprise. I’m not necessarily horny for it but it would be nice to cast different navigation to that screen seeing as how it’s already a little antiquated, I can’t image what it will be like in several years.

congrats on your order, we one on the way as well... long wait but worth it.

Thanks a shxx load I change my mind, good luck thanks

Just spent the last 10 minutes getting caught up on this thread. One question on my end still remains: Is there any truth to the expanded color options for the 2021 LC HE? I'm all for no third row, no ice box, dark headlights/grille, lack of body molding on the doors, etc., but am keen on the silver exterior.

Some of the online automotive "news" publications claim the following: "The old-school body-on-frame SUV remains mostly unchanged, too. The only significant difference for 2021 is that the Heritage Edition now gets the option of a third row of seats and two new exterior colors: Classic Silver Metallic and Magnetic Gray Metallic join Midnight Black Metallic and Blizzard Pearl. All Heritage Edition cars come with a model-specific set of sweet-looking BBS-sourced 18-inch wheels."

Official Toyota website only allows the 2021 HE to be 'built' only in Blizzard White or Midnight Black Metallic (same as 2020) with no other color options. I'm guessing that the rumors regarding add'l colors are purely that...just rumors. Can you confirm @Eric Sarjeant ? Or any others that have one on order?

Sounds like it might be the same cost to just paint/wrap a 2021 HE any color you want than to remove the ice box from a 2021 non-HE... 🤑 (PS - that's a joke, I realize how much a proper paint job costs, but %@$#@$#@ at the cost of ice box removal!).

Thanks MUD!

Grey and Silver are confirmed. I don't think the 1st wave will be available, but I am 100% confident we'll see them in the next few allocations.

Eric, is there any indication whether the grey and silver HE will still come with bronze rims?

They will be bronze. This is a screen snip of my “internal“ Toyota cheat sheet application

I think the grey and silver would look much better with black rims. Easy enough fix though.

Can’t wait to see what the grey and silver HEs look like. This may be the year I finally pull the trigger.
Grey (base) with chrome delete and Heritage wheels

so is chrome delete done there at Ed Martin?
Looks great BTW
Yes, Technically it’s done at Ed Martin Body Shop in Anderson Indiana. About 30 miles from Noblesville.
