Sounds like central tire inflation system (CTIS) may be a future option on these Gen2 portals too.

kinked breather, I believe.

Yes, and the Resi line was rubbing against the spring to the point it was down to bare metal.

Whole thing really looked haphazardly slapped together for a SEMA show

sounds like @benc has his setup dialed in correctly.

Changing the gear lube out of each portal every 3k miles seems a bit... Much?

That said, $17k for portals vs a linked SAS on any axle I'd really consider doing the work to install (custom fabricated 609) is actually a bargain, all things considered.

I believe it is a good value for what it enables. It's also a good way to refresh so many things that it replaces and including hubs and wheel bearings, brakes, knuckles. Then what it supplants in needing to re-gear, suspension lift, body lift. Possibly eliminates the need for as much armor and static weight elsewhere.

Trying to justify stuff in my head LOL.

When my 2008 Tacoma cycles out of DD duty in 3 years, I was thinking about doing a SAS on SuperDuty 'Tons.
All things considered, I'd be into portals + 40's for about HALF of that project with gas/beer money to spare.

No extra bracket / gusset on the rear 🫣🥴
As soon as we get one in the shop we will design a rear gusset. That being said, with the bigger studs and beefy axle flange on the 200 it is not much of an issue and most will not need one. Good peace of mind though and doesn’t cost much.
For anyone who has already re-geared and getting portals... what's the plan? Re-gear back to stock? 40s?
Depends on what you have geared to? With 4.88 grears and the 22% reduction from the portals it would roughly be like running a 33” tire on 4.88 gears.
Are the red circled bits part of the brake lines?

That is the breather and should not be run like that.

Yes! All gen2 boxes are plumbed for future ctis

I’m going to send them this photo and give them a hard time 😂. That’s why there are shops like us (dissent offroad) to handle the installation. In all fairness this is the prototype.

Thanks! Yes, I have 5 rubicon trips and 3 fordyce trips this summer alone and couldn’t be more pleased!

Every 5k is what I do and the oil still looks good after that.

Update, yeah he sent it to us and did indeed give us a hard time...

And to the "rushed SEMA build" comments, you're not wrong. Your ebrake and running breather lines is the last step in your install and you should take your time and make it tidy. We rushed this one off the lift to get it out to shoot photos, you can blame me, the media guy (our install guy is also blaming me and making me finish the e brake install and properly run the breathers)

Other than roasting my breather install, I'm stoked the 200 series portals are being received well. If you guys/gals have any questions me or Dissent can answer them!

All good man!

Excellent response! Respect!

This is definitely a great breakthrough in tech and will be great to see the progression

Now who wants to start the over under on when @TeCKis300 starts his??

Do you guys offer an upgraded front and/or rear BBK kit that works with the portals?

Unknown answer today, but the answer should be yes.

I am reaching out to Power Brake tomorrow to get some 3d models of their LC200 big brake kit and we should be able to have a production ready kit in a few weeks. I believe we are currently 6-8 weeks out on shipping LC200 portals, so if anyone ordered we would be able to include the BBK with the order as long as everything goes smoothly (it should)
