Having some 285/75r17 BFG KO2's installed on Monday on my 2021 LC. Gaijin what pressure should I set these at?

The RCTIP for those LT285/75R17 121S Load Range E All Terrain T/A KO2 tires on your LC200 is 37psi F/R.

I have 285/60R18 120S XL Toyo ATIII on a 2009 LX570 (w/ Method MR305 NV, 18x9, 25mm offset).

I put them at 33 PSI, which is on the door jamb sticker for the stock 285/50R20 tire size, and looks to be the PSI for the LC200 with 285/60R18. All seemed okay (despite getting unsolicited advice to check my tire pressure since they "look low" at 33 PSI). I generally have 400-1100 lbs payload on highway and dirt roads.

However, at 700 miles, I saw the outside corner edges of the tread seemed to be wearing faster than the center, usually meaning underinflation. I emailed Toyo, and their response was to take them even lower to 27 PSI.

Three questions:

- Are these ETRTO tires w/ the 120S load rating? (The Toyo load inflation tables range from 26-35 PSI for standard load index 114. Didn't see for 120S, so w/o any confidence in my answer I think it'd be: GVWR is 7385 lbs * 1.1 = 8123.5 lbs ... /4 = 2030.875 lbs per wheel for ETRTO, or 26 PSI? Yikes.)

- Is Toyo correct on 27 PSI, since the Lexus has a different suspension, etc.? It seems plausible (200 Series Tire and Wheel Size Database - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/200-series-tire-and-wheel-size-database.818686/page-113#post-14981417), but just concerning given the wear happening at 33.

- So given what the right answer turns out to be, do folks think 33 PSI is okay all of the time? What about 35 PSI? I'm mainly concerned about safety at high speeds with large payloads, and then the longevity of the tire.

I have successfully used (like, 100k+ miles per set on the first two sets) Michelin LTX M/S on my LC100, and am about to change out the mud tires on my new-to-me 2008 LC200 for some street tires. Stock wheels, and plan is to use stock tire size. I know, boring. In the group's experience, is the LTX still a great tire for road use, or am I missing out on the "new hotness"?

To answer your questions
- There is a specific 120 load table but it doesn't make all that much difference. It's mostly about more pressure (and load) headroom
- Toyo is (barely) correct, if only looking singularly at tires and load equivalence. Vehicles are more complex than that, and tires are not only about load. It is Lexus/Toyota whom engineer the vehicle as a system and therefore their recommendation for the LC as an analogue would be a great one to follow. It's not and never been about suspension, and that's a made up thing by someone bent on distinguishing a J201.
- 33 PSI is fine. It's also fine to run 35 PSI and might be good for the heavier trim LX. Or to adjust further for your loadout and taste.

The 285/75r17 (33.9"x11") tires fit well with a 2" lift and the -35mm backspacing of the method wheels (17x8.5"). Only a slight rub on the plastic fender liner at full lock (pictured). Extremely happy with the look, and the fit. Unfortunately there was a mishap at the tire shop though, and the cruiser took a pretty big hit to the drivers door. Drivers side rubs like a sonofabitch, but only because of the accident.

Holy f'n eff. Man oh man, I'd be livid. That's gonna be a $5K+ fix, easy.
 
I believe the initial quote was 8K. Tire shop owner is a friend, felt awful obviously and is handling the repair through his insurance. s*** happens, thankfully no one was hurt.

Sounds about right, there's $1500 just in the side skirt and chrome trim part alone and then you've got the mirror and body work on both the fender and door and a multi-stage repaint. Glad to hear it's being handled, you're a better sport than myself lol.

I ususally stay pretty level headed. I am in the service business and understand how many problems come into play when you have multiple employees handling other peoples property :/

Yes. the biggest thing that worries me about the repair is the door fitment. Right now it does not seal properly (sounds like the window is down). I do have a lot of other scratches and dents that will be repaired while this work is being done... somewhat of a silver lining.

I had similar damage to the driver side door of a F-250 a few years back and the body shop just ended up reskinning the door for the repair. Unfortunately it never sat quite right after the repair and there was a faint rattle that got worse in the weeks after it was repaired. Ultimately it drove me insane, I couldn't handle having an $80K truck that was only a year old rattle like that so I ended up trading it in on another Super Duty haha.
 
That big push in the door likely lifted the door frame off the body - been there. I was able to pop a trashcan lid sized dent out and have the door relax and re-seal, but that was on a 60...less rigid than a 200 door. I'd push pretty hard for a new door.

That big push in the door likely lifted the door frame off the body - been there. I was able to pop a trashcan lid sized dent out and have the door relax and re-seal, but that was on a 60...less rigid than a 200 door. I'd push pretty hard for a new door.
Confirmed today the entire drivers door will be replaced.

I believe you're referring to the link to our website? The first two wheels listed on the update page on our website take you to the 6x139.7 wheels for the third generation Sequoia/Tundra, and the next two links are for the 5x150 wheels for LC-200 and second generation Sequoia / Tundra. The design, testing, engineering, certification, etc. applies to both the 5x150 version and the 6x139.7 versions of these new wheels. 👍

I would say that I'm one of the oldest supporters of the forum, even though you guys might be aware of the fact. I've worked with Woody (the owner of this forum and a great guy) in the past and even provided a set of the original Six Shooters for free for one of his vehicles back in 2013 in return for vendor status. I never took him up on the offer/agreement to post products on his forum (IH8MUD) until now. You can see from my profile that our join date was June 2012. We have a lot of great customers who post regularly on this forum, and they said I should definitely get on here to answer questions for you guys directly on the forum.
