Test fit a couple of fan options but my black hub fan has worked so well I think I’ll just go with it for now.

Time to tighten pulleys to make some headway. Was having trouble holding the a/c clutch and thought a band wrench might work but it was slightly too big so tried just turning the key to on with the a/c button energized. With belt tension it worked perfectly.

So, torqued the a/c clutch to 10 ft/lbs and the tensioner to 29 ft/lbs after setting the belt tension. Torqued the crank pulley with a buddy.

There must be some variation with the serpentine tensioner because the standard 80 series fan clutch with the .20 spacer doesn’t clear.

In looking at the tensioner pulley, you can tell the belt was not riding in the center of the pulley and the bearing in the back is not fully flush. No brand on the bearing.

After using the press to center the pulley it became apparent that the pulley bolt head is sticking out too far for clearance. Pics on the earlier referenced fan spacing link do not show a bolt head sticking out at all. Not sure the bolt is serviced by Toyota so need a solution. If you look closely in the picture, you can see where the bolt head is hitting the fan.

Put the fan on the orange hub clutch and it clears. Guess I’ll go this route.

Following fan clutch pulley install, it’s time to adjust the belts. Alternator pivot bolt torques to 43 ft/lbs and adjuster 15.

I’m missing a #28 clamp so ordered a couple of newer style for the 2” hose but they were too wide to be fully seated so will plan to pick up another standard one in the morning.

Part update. There’s a special throttle body gasket for the supercharger that has a different part number and is a paper fiber, not metal. I’m not sure why one would be different.

Don't use them. Go with the OEM gaskets in both locations.

Thanks for the tip. I wondered why TRD went to the trouble to make a different one and if it was needed why not 2 for the plenum?

Side note: I'm assuming this has the stock pulley on it but how do I verify it?

Is that the actual OD or inner part of where the belt rides?

I don't know where it is measured from but would assume the belt riding surface. The lip could vary by manufacturer.
Take a measure of what you have. I would assume its 3.25"

Here are other options you can buy if interested. I may have a 3.0 in my bin if interested.

I ran into a couple of roadblocks with the install where I need a couple of part numbers if anyone can help. I’d like to keep this as Toyota as I can.

First, I need a block off cap for the plenum where one of the EGR hoses gets relocated. In the past anytime I tried to use a part store one it would quickly dry rot and break apart. This really needs to be a Toyota part.

Second, the replacement throttle body Gates coolant hoses are slightly bigger OD and the clamps do not fit. I’d like to find the same style clamp and it’s easier for me to order it from a Toyota dealer if I can locate a part number. Thank you.
