Hi guys,
I blew my engine on my lx 450 can you guys tell me where can i order online somo parts:
headgasket, gasket kit, oil pump

thanks!

Where are you at?

How did you blow it?

Mileage?

Maintenance History?

miami, 33142 (but i want to buy online or paypal)

PO maintance was not good, the engine was consuming oil
165,000 miles
mechanic left oil pump cover lose, blew away oil and major damage
I already have pistons, rings, bearings

I've had for 6 months and have been slowly restoring her....

I have a junkyard motor in mine, apparently these engines can run for quite sometime with old oil, somewhere around 20-25000 miles as my mother found out 10 years back. Now I can say that the engine only has 140,000 miles on it!

I dont recommend doing this... but with a 9 quart sump, it can go a while on the same oil.

PM me if you want a complete engine with 128K.

Let me know if you want a short block with just 67,xxx miles on the clock.

thanks for the offers but actually I already started the rebuild, the engine is at the shop now, I already have some stuff, just need to buy the above mentioned online...

Buying online is probably not going to happen. Take the advice to call cruiserdan and talk to him. He knows what you will need even when you don't. Why is it such a big deal to use paypal?

Use 2JZ GTE Head studs (from ARP) in place of the factory Torque-to-yield head studs and fit Cometic MLS head gasket while you're there. If you want to save some cash, just use the factory head gasket with the head studs.

(the head studs give a much higher clamping force on the gasket - useful in motors like the 1FZ where the head gasket can be a bit of an issue as they age)

Also - as it's an 80 series motor, if you de-shroud the valves (remove material from the combustion chamber squish zones to do this - and before you ask - there's no problem removing these squish zones, 100 series heads have virtually none at all) you'll pick up a significant improvement in flow. (I'll see if I can find a pic of what I did to mine)

thanks to all for your input, I'll contact cruiser dan for the parts. regards

Well, in that case call beno /\. He's cdan in training and his sidekick.

I've never seen an discussions regarding this. Sorry to hijack but I'd like to see more info. Or start another thread?
