Finished the floor with sound deadening mat (Noico) that has an aluminum heat shield. The man followed that up with a layer of sound absorbing foam mat (also Noico).

I don't have any frame issues and I also have zero interest in doing a frame off resto on my rigs. But I do have to tip my hat to you Sir. You've done a great job and the write up was great to read.

Thanks!

Also finished the roof sound proofing the evening/night. The sound proofing job took longer than I had anticipated. Roughly 20 hrs. The roof was really awkward because working with your hands over your head is exhausting. I love the result though.

I had to remove the old matting material which left a bunch of adhesive. Tried several cleaners/solvents, scrub brushes, abrasive pads until settling on 2” red finishing Roloc discs. That unfortunately took off too much and left bare metal spots. I had an open bottle of POR-15 and proceeded to scuff the area with red 3M finishing pads, followed by a thorough was/degrease solvent prep and finally a coat of pot-15 over those spots:

Metal prepped the underside with Eastwood After Blast and made some small spot tests with POR-15 against bare metal, paint, seam sealer residue, nuts. Tomorrow I’ll try to peel, abrade, chip, chisel and hammer it off. Let’s see what works or doesn’t. All surfaces have been abraded, glass cleaned and solvent cleaned before the acid etch and wipe down. Stay tuned. No pics...sorry :(

Looks like things are coming along quite well. Look forward to seeing the results of your continued efforts.
