No if you use 1HDT/FT mounts.

The trans mounts we did move because in an 80 an auto has the mounts farther back on the frame. So we moved them forward to suit the manual trans.

Cheers
Ian, did you put threads in the front holes on the frame for the H15x? They are threadless.

We cut the original 343 auto mounts off the frame, modified trans crossmember (because it gets narrower moving forward) and than welded them on. IIRC they only move 1.5” or there abouts, auto to manual. We have since just gone to biying the mounts new since they are fairly cheap, still available and it saves a lot of labor not having to cut the originals off the frame carefully.

Cheers

I kept the crossmember in the same place. I took a stainless 15-5 PH plate 8mm thick with 4 holes. It’s attached to the crossmember pointing forward on the holes where the insulator sats. The two other holes support the insulator. I found one that is a few mm thinner so the transmission sits at the right attitude. Did not require any mods on the car.

A fairly big list for it!

Cheers

Wait WHAT

It's back at the spa! What's on the hit list for this go around?

Body off, glass out paint.
Paint chassis.
LRA subtank.
Diff re-gear.
Some interior work.
Changing some accessories around.

Cheers

Dude, that’s not a spa trip. That’s a trip to the operating room with an ICU stay afterwards.

Can’t wait to see what happens next.

I just know I'm too stupid to do the wiring on that. Were the stock engine mounts used 'as is' or did they have to be modified?

Yes stock mounts.

Cheers
