I really like the EGT gauge and its location.

Could you share a link to that gauge?
I'm thinking about using it to measure the head temperature.
Does it come with a probe I can attach to one of the head's bolts?

It’s an Auber gauge. Check their site for all the info you may need. I’ve had that gauge and currently have the same one but in round form to monitor trans temp.

Head off to install ARPs, 16,000 miles on this engine. Still cleaning head in these pics.

Got a set of cam bearings coming, they are cheap so we figured why not do them.

That’s it for now on the FTE until the coater is done and a few parts arrive.

Whole underside of the body got scrubbed clean the last few days. It’s heading out for paint soon so this was prep for that.

Made a body cart today, mostly for this build. It is fully adjustable though and will work on a 40/55/60/70/80.

Just need to do a half dozen tack welds and some big flat washers and I can set it down on the cart. The body shop it is going to is a ways from my shop and we don’t want to transport the body on the rotisserie. It will get transported on this cart and he can use both the cart and rotisserie for the full paint job.

It is funny, I know the 1FZ so well, but these diesels are completely foreign to me. It is really cool to see the different tech inside!
