I'm a bit surprised as well. Kinda odd to cut off a piece of something that pretty. But, not my truck.

Same here, I keep telling my wife, friends and family "I'm NOT doing a restoration, it's lifted, aftermarket seats, wheels are the wrong color, 315's....etc, etc....". I would call this a resto-mod (mine and this one, which is several degrees beyond my hopes and dreams), but this is amazing and beautiful regardless of my semantics.

Today wiring harnesses got cleaned, any repairs needed made and fresh wrap where needed too.

Pretty good video showing before and after. The unrestored chassis is a 97, west coast. The restored obviously a 95 which was a little worse as far as rust before the resto.



Fully restored and right before we dropped the body down on it.

What an awesome project. I hope to be able to DIY something like this someday - obviously not near to the standard you are doing. But certainly want to do cab-off restoration of something. Many our 100 series in another 15 years as a project with my sons.

The cheer wealth of knowledge in this build is amazing. I wish I could travel yo USA and just experince this first hand.

I think my OCD is extremely satisfied watching this thread
 
What is the insulator used ? And is if for sound or heat and sound ?
 
Head light switch replaced.

Needed to polish around the windshield frame since a windshield is also going in it on Monday. Just went ahead and polished the whole roof.

I think I'm mostly jealous of the rear defroster lines more than anything from that last post right now. lol
