I'm doing the same...replacing parts during my swap since of course I'm already in there and then keeping the old as a spare.

I am struggling with a re-paint. No doubt my 6m1 is failing on the hood and roof. Not to mention my fender flares need a full refresh as well. And then we have my slightly munched LHS rear quarter. I also want to drop a windshield in it and refresh my cargo sliding windows. I am also deleting the RR and welding up the holes in my roof. Best to do all that when doing a repaint, I just really don’t want to open that big of a can of worms right now. 🤷🏼‍♂️

See where I go with it I guess and it will be back on the road regardless by spring. In fact I am thinking about busting a bunch of after hours work this month to run it down to the King of the Hammers. I did just order roof sound deadening / heat shield the other day so my headliner is coming out soon. Slightly feeling like I have already opened to big of a can of worms for a trip in a month. 😬

Cheers

How much dynamat is needed for your level of coverage including the quarters and wheel arches?

x3 door kits (12 sheets at 18”x36”) and 56sqft. I am not done so I can’t comment on how much is left over yet.

Cheers

@SNLC I just repainted my 6M1 myself, and it took about a week. I posted in the paint forum of mud if you want to see it. It looks AMAZING! (1 guide coat, 3 coats or paint and 2 coats of primer)

Personally, I would paint it. After all the work and the investment you've put into it why not? Plus in case you want to sell it, it would help a lot I think. Either way, its a worthy rig to get painted after all your time and effort.

All I have left to do on Dynamat is rear quarters.

This is my LHS rear quarter, after my man Chris worked it with a hammer and dolly for a half hour. I wanted to get the hammer and dolly work done before I lay down the dynamat.

I don’t think I mentioned it yet, I bought myself a new ACC carpet kit on Christmas Eve. 🤗

I’m in the do not paint it camp unless you are going to stop taking it off road. A truck with a shiny paint job doesn’t look a whole lot better than a truck with a faded paint job if they both have a trail pin stripe. Find a used flare and stick it on there.

How do you like the carpet? Any first impressions? I like that your dolling up the interior, make it nice and comfortable in there... you'll enjoy the ride even more

Freaking amazing. It’s going to be brand new when you’re done!

I should have bought it earlier 🤣

When I installed the new engine I noticed one of the firewall heater core lines was deformed. I tried to make it round again at that time, it however has leaked on me twice now.

My Cruiser is a 1/1995, crossover month. I may see if I can find the right hard line for the core and replace just that. Clean and flush the core plus a pressure test and run it. It really is in exceptional condition for being 27yrs old.

Cheers
