LOL...I think I might be the first to go this color on an 80. I pumped to see it in person. Those were the pics that the shop sent me. Hopefully it will be done tomorrow.

Got to stop by the shop today. It was supposed to be done but when it got out of the boot the manager said the quality wasn't acceptable by their standards. I walked around with the asst. manager to fix correct anything I didn't like (there wasn't much) and was offered a free rental for the next couple of days until it is finished. It says something that a company is willing to stand behind their product and make it right. But the paint looks awesome in person, the pictures don't to it justice. From about 10ft away it looks like a sold grey but up close it looks a little metalic/pearly-ish.
It is a good thing that you fixed that ocean rust. It is like Land Cruiser leprosy. There was a FJ60 at the boat ramp of the Mauna Lani beach club on the big island that just kept rusting away every year until one year it was gone. Maybe they sent it to Molokai so it's pono could be in peace?

Yeah...I usually wouldn't put body work at the top of my list but I wanted to get ahead of it now before it took over. It amazing how quickly the rust can destroy a vehicle here if its gets neglected.
nice looking rig f18wrangler! im looking for a place to paint my 94 fzj80 too. im in town, but willing to drive if the quality is great. not to sure but would you mind letting us kno the cost for tha work that was put in by your paint shop. i would like to get an idea of what im looking at for my project. mahalo!

Picked it up from paint yesterday. I happy with the job they did and it turned out very well. Spent all day putting it back together, got the windows tinted, and picked up the a set of 315x75 BFG KO2s. Now I need a lift lol...And a rear bumper.

While I was putting everything back together I decided to put some silicone under the rear window clips to prevents leaks. I also put in some sound deadener while I had everything pulled apart. Oh, and while waiting for the tint there was a crazy cat to play with in their lobby.

Got a few things done in the past couple of days. Got the snorkel installed...that sucked lol. Installed a RAM phone mount and did some rust remediation.
got to meet up with fj last night and saw his rig in person! i gotta say, "that thing is so clean it looks like it came straight of the factory floor!" no kidding at all. fj got a wealth of knowledge too! one day i want my 80 to grow up to be like his! thanks again FJ!!!

While still searching for my rough idle issue I replaced the one of the temp sensors. While I was in there I figured I would do the cold start sensor because it was in horrible shape. And again while I was doing that it was as good as time as any to do a coolant flush, new toyo red, and upper rad hose.

Thanks to a fellow MUD member I got a good deal on a 2.5 OME lift with 30mm front spacer. Everything went well with the lift except for the two broken wheel studs. I pretty happy with the stance now. Still have the rear flares off due to taking measurements for rear bumper.
What's all this! You guys have and 80 series party and no invite sent my way? I see how it is...

It seems the party usually involves the exchanging of needed parts lol. There is always an open invite for one of MUDs most infamous ...I mean famous members lol. Plus, my wife is always looking for a surf partner haha.

Nice! Your wife and I can go for a surf, and you and my husband Mike can talk Land Cruisers! However, I would be a terrible surf partner....mostly because I suck at surfing and am a huge chicken! It needs to be super small and sunny and warm for me to paddle out! Mikes the surf pro in the family, he's really good.
