Nice! Your wife and I can go for a surf, and you and my husband Mike can talk Land Cruisers! However, I would be a terrible surf partner....mostly because I suck at surfing and am a huge chicken! It needs to be super small and sunny and warm for me to paddle out! Mikes the surf pro in the family, he's really good.

Sounds like a good time to me. My wife is new to surfing so you two would be perfect for each other. She has been going to Castles quite a bit for practice. And I do like talking about landcruisers....beer....oh, and BBQ :)

You're doing an awesome job bringing this one back to glory..... and with such low miles. Keep it up. The Cement looks great on the 80!

I appreciate it. I wasnt sure how the color was going to come out but I am happy I went with it. Got some interesting looks from a new 4runner owner whos truck was the same color. lol

And todays kayaking trip was a success. Paddled out to flat island and got some sun burns. Also, we ended up geeing to park to a fj80 at the beach...it was a good day.

Anddd a post with the pics...cant figure out why some from photobucket transfer fine but some Show up as an x. Oh well

Installed a off brand SPOD ...really good quality. Hooked up some led fog lights as well and figured it was as good as time as any to removed some more emissions stuff.

Not a whole lot going on,just in the middle or rebuilding the front end. Besides news seals, bearings, gaskets I'm also doing brake lines, calipers, pads, rotors, Tre, and castor correction bushings, it's just taking forever because I'm cleaning/painting everything while I'm at it.

Awesome job and color choice! Giving this a new life with less than 80k miles means it will last literally forever. My 1992 is a couple thousand miles from rolling 400k on the original drivetrain.

Annndddd this is slowly getting out of hand lol. Paint lanyard, sway bar, steering. Just need to put it back together ughhh

I'm just catching up on this awesome rebuild. I'm also on Oahu, Windward side. Please holler if you need a wrench hand! The rebuild is teaching me a lot, and motivating me to refurbish soon. Just bought my 97 LX405 two months ago from a buddy.

Thanks! Im getting it done in Pearl City at Maaco. I have been impressed with the customer service at this point and would recommend them. Ill shoot you a PM about details.
I'd love to hear about the details on cost for this paint job. I went to them just two months ago for some motorcycle parts and they asked waaayyyyy to much. I'd like to get mine painted in the next year in a two tone as it is now.

Hey! I actually say your rig at the ball field on kbay when I picked up the kayaks from MWR. I really dig the color scheme of your truck. What kind of referb does your truck need? just basics?

So......while I was finishing up on the axle i went to separate the P/S briff and axle shaft but that did not go as planned. The clip got mangled and I had to cut it of. Due to my awesome cutt-off skills i ruined my shaft by cutting to deep. Now I need to order a new one....ughh

Wish all you guys were around when I was on island...

Look at it this way, you're going to have a brand new rig when you're done! This just might be the thread to get me out to recondition all those parts I said I would..
