thanks...were you running your AC when that happened or just seized? Can these cruisers run without the belt to the AC compressor? There are three belts, so wasn't sure if the one for the compressor is just for the compressor.

Thanks

yes, it was running. hot summer day ... i thought it was the truck in front of me at first.

Recent MPG is around 19.4...assuming the 10% I added on for bigger tires is correct, which I believe it is.

Just saw this posted.

10% tire correction lol, get a GPS and figure out what it really is. My 255s are only 3% difference

Well either way I'm at lest getting 17.4. The tires were originally 28 and when I did google maps of my route it was pretty much spot on. My limited knowledge and googling lead to saying 28 to 31/32 was 10% when accounting for speed and what not. So just guesstimating, which I probably shouldn't. I figure 18mpg between the both 19.4 being lucky.

so I put on 102.4KM on the odometer and clocked roughly 116.8KM, which is a little over 12% change, via google maps. So give or take a few KMs, I think 10% is safe.

A little progress with the box. Made an extra compartment for a battery. Still need to build the drawers, put the top on and get the hinges...then carpet.

Haha, never heard those terms before. Glad you like them better as well. I feel it suits the truck better, more pleasant to look at from the inside as well. Couple more frames after a brief spray this morning.

I figured I would post two other photos that some of you may get a kick out of. When my grandfather passed away a while ago I received his collection of plaid shirts, couple paintings and the two Toyota key chains and Land Cruiser poster.

nice , I think I am due for a key chain.. the minors look great !

I was eventually planning on installing differential breathers and for whatever reason never paid attention to the axles until today when I went to look where the breathers are located. Apparently breathers have already been installed. They aren't much higher, but a good 6" if not more above the axle.

Father and son "diesels" side by side meeting for a pint. He misses his bj42.....

we had a bit of rain a couple weeks ago as well...no need for a snorkel, but a few broke down cars that were underwater.

The breathers appear to be factory. What a lot of people do is extend the front axle into the engine compartment somewhere and the rear axle into the fuel fill access area.

Pat

eventually I will extend, just glad all I have to do is buy the hose rather than the other parts. I didn't know the came factory like that. I checked the parts and apparently this is common.......showed the hose and breather for the axel parts.
