Just read through this whole thread. Bucky is real gem. Appreciated how you carefully preserved the original patina after rust repair, will have to do the same on my 40’s rear still at some point. I’m going to have to convince my old man to get a 55 too now.
I was hoping to have my ‘82 FJ40 ready in time for CRR, but it’s moving too slow. It will probably be Bucky at CRR once again this year. That’s okay. Bucky is more fun anyway!
Really enjoying this thread (not all the way through yet). I am not far from you in Matthews with a crusty 60 - may need some tips on rebuilding rockers/rear quarters like you've done on Bucky. Great work!

Good to meet you at Cruise Moab, Dave. Thanks for introducing yourself. Hope you'll make our western Pig Party some day in Bucky. Maybe we'll see you at the next SSS.

I might be getting into the pig scene with a 71 fj55 soon and this build is the perfect motivation for it! Bucky is a beautiful truck! do you still have it?

Thanks @Roastchestnuts .There are some things in life that can't be bought or sold. Bucky is one of those things. I do still have the truck, and enjoy driving it regularly.
I hear you! its a beautiful truck! Once I get working on this fj55 Ill probibly hit you up on information on some of the weld repairs. I like what you did with the rockers. I think owners of the one I am looking at have patch rockers with it but we will see once I get it. Same color as yours! If you ever make it out to the outer banks take the ferry to Ocracoke NC and say hi!
