What do you guys think about this 16 inch steelies? They are a little pricey. Is there any advantage to 16's other than more tire options?

I'm sporting 22s trashcan caps and never been happier 😘

Oh and they have Curb feelers 😘🤣

I'm trying to decide which which rims to put on which LC. I am leaning toward putting the 60 rims on the 55 with 33x10.50s and the steelies on the 40 with 31x10.50. Help me decide :). Her is a few examles of each.

Do you have 60 chrome spokes? Or white spokes?

I think it depends on the mods you are doing to the 40 & 55, but 100% - put 33s on Pig.

No doubt about it that those City Racer reproduction wheels would look great especially once you add the hubcaps. True classic look!! But yes pricey. I went with vintage look D slot black 15” wheels and 33” K02’s both from Discount Tire. The wheels were like $50 per around three years ago. I think they look good on my truck but man those CR repros are sweet.

Pretty sure I will eventually go with the CR 16" rims. You can get a lot more tire choices and they look OEM.
Yeah, they are just pricey!!

Ok, I have 16" Stockton Wheels with 3.5" back spacing. The problem I have is rubbing on the caliper. I have to grind some of the caliper so it doesn't hit the rim. I'm running 4 runner calipers front an rear. The next set of tires I'm switching to 17" wheels to fix that problem.

Edit... I guess 4" back spacing would work, but my tires stick out enough being FJ60 axle width.

Anyone know if a 3 speed shift lever will work with a 4 speed tranny? The 3 speed is out of a 73 FJ55 and the 4 speed is out of a 84 FJ60.

Can i use the 3 speed shifter in the 4 speed tranny?

UPDATE:

I have been focusing on the FJ40 "Belle". I am really close to the finish line, so I am trying to finish it and get it on the road. Need to paint the hood, the windshield frame and hook up the wiring harness. I have some rust work to do on the doors and top sides, but that can with until later. I want to get her on the road.

That being said, I have been stockpiling parts for "Buckshot" the FJ55 and will be ready once I can turn my attention to him. Here is my latest acquisitions. Thank you

You bet! It was great meeting yesterday. My son’s team made it to the finals this afternoon and lost that game to Vandy’s alumni team. Taking second was a victory given the number of freshmen on his team.
Cheers,
Mike
It was nice to meet you and your family too! Congrats on the tournment. Once I get the 40 on the road, I'll have to bring it up to Tenn to do some wheeling with you!!!
