cam must come out to change the gear...unless there is some magic tool made by Toyota to do it, old one must be pressed off and the new one pressed back on......
 
oil pump clearance:
driven gear clearance = 0.051 mm/ 0.002" ....... limit 0.2 mm/ 0.0079" ok
drive gear clearance = 0.076mm/ 0.003" ......... limit 0.2 mm/ 0.0079" ok

backlash.................= 0.063 mm/0.0025"
gear end play.................= 0.038 mm/0.0015"
sum.....= 0.101mm/ 0.004"...... limit 0.15 mm/ 0.006"ok

transfer and linkage arms

while the engine is on grinding shop , removed to restore the arms of the transfer case exchange and column linkage
the arms of the column which color changes would?? satin black? or metal as it is?

I was just looking through my box of those parts! These parts came plated on my '70. The rest were painted black.
 
Column relay rod

with the left over changeing the new ones I used for the COLMN RELAY ROD!!
they going to work better!!
until I get a better one!!

I didnt like this noch, so......
put a bit of mig weld and start to give some form.... out side and inside!!
than heat with a torch and leave to warm slow to get distemered!! than you can make the hole!!
after that I give some scored late lines and heat agen and fast cold in to a water so get temoered......
next I change the inside ring that came from the donate end rod and ready to get powder coated!!

I have a tale!!
while driving the FJ40 in the city,
I reached a FJ40 red and started to talk and talk about them, it is very difficult to find this model here.
on my car told me that he seemed excellent, but I needed something distinctive ...... the Mexican twist!
turn my head to see his and this is what surprised me ..........I get stuck!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I would have gone with a 6 spoke wheel that blended well with the Warn hubs. :steer:


I have no idea how I missed this thread. Amazing work, You have given me a good solution to how to repair my Barn doors which are in worse shape than yours were BTW. I was scratching my head about how to construct that corner radius for the inside. Kudos!

I am my building my truck currently and plan to have it ready in time for my upcoming wedding! I hope well before then.
 
Not sure about the bracket, but my 74 had several of those same screws holding items to the frame, so I would say yes they are original.

What year, looks like 69. I had a 72 240z for 17 years, loved that car.
You are going to have fun with that roadster. Much rust? That is the enemy with the old Datsuns.

is 70 , and the guy I purchase from just make an frame off resto and change all floor
engine like new, brakes need adjust
he repainted all , ....... I just get stuck with the car
