So we have switched it up on the shocks. Going with a Fox 2.5 remote resi with adjuster. Nobody has the Kings on the shelf and they are all eight plus weeks out from every vendor. Accutune has a pair of the Fox on the shelf so we are grabbing those and ordering the other two from them as well. This way I can finalize everything on the chassis using the two for mock up. Need to figure out how I will be mounting the resi’s.

Added bonus of the Fox, rebound and compression adjuster vs just a compression on the Kings.

I can’t wait to give this truck it’s first test drive out in the desert. 😁

Cheers

Getting into the front shock and steering layout.

By the way,, these are just Fox 2.0 in 11”. They are 28” extended which is what I needed.

We went back to a King 2.5 with adjusters. Fox was also 8 weeks out so we just went Kings.

is that a 40 or a 60 axle? The tires are very likely going to rub the shocks when one side is under bump. It's a minor amount but I have that issue on my Fj62 with those shock towers. Can you cut them down or angle them more vertically? That would fix their inversion as well.

40 with 60 outers.

They are pretty vertical, nothing burned on yet. I am sure you know, this is still “layout”. Once I am happy with that, knuckles, Marlin arms, Marlink, hubs and tires go on to cycle the suspension before burn on. It’s a process. 😉

The spring and shackle setup looks perfect.
You have a ton of room in the engine bay with the inline motor to bring the upper shock mounts closer together. It’ll drive better that way too

When I used those shock mounts on my 40 I had to straighten them up to keep the 37x12.5 tires from rubbing.

Both sides getting turned more than 12*.

Probably give this a quick grind and make one more pass on it to fill the fuller.

With the C&T done I am bolting up knuckles and hubs so I can fit wheels/tires, configure steering, shocks, bump stops and so forth.

No worries on tie rod to frame under compression.

I am feeling the stock 80-series pitman arm is to much drop, even without check under compression. I can adjust the box up and less angle a bit but not a lot. So I ordered up a flatter pitman arm this afternoon. The Marlink is also to short on the rods, it’s a kit I have had sitting around for a few years. So I need to order up some new rods the right length but the drag link is super flat, just how we like it.
