I think Chris had to do some work here so the late model windshield fits the early doors.

LHS door is a replacement, the RHS has the double bolts for windshield frame.

IMG_1376.jpeg

LHS only had singles so we had to drill and tap to make sure it matches the RHS.

Took some work to get the door gap right here.

Doors aligned pretty good for the body shop.

Now that the 67’ is at the painters I have been speaking to the owner and the paint shop.

I think this painter is top notch and really knows his work. They did all the Legacy Classic dodges for the first 3-5yrs when Legacy got started.

They are really doing a lot of great stuff during the body resto process. I am excited to see it when it comes back! Interior is also getting done at the same time so when it comes back to us we won’t have to do much besides final assembly. Also the painter said early next year he will be done.

Alright so for the cost and time it took I am a bit disappointed. I was also not really involved in the process, like I wouldn’t have personally done the black trim. I would have done it how Toyota did. Anyways that doesn’t matter, the owner made those decisions and he is happy with it. I had hoped for more from the painter and in the conversations we had, I did ask/push for more. Regardless they did do some bed lining, underside of the Cruiser and the inside of the bed. They also did spray some Lizard Skin sound deadening.

We are going to have to finish it out with the fit & finish, all the weatherstripping, glass install and interior. That’s alright we had just hoped the paint/restoration shop would have done more.

On a positive note, it’s rust free, straight, sealed up, painted and ready for the final assembly stages!!

Cheers

It was great seeing this thread for the first time and reading it beginning to end, getting excited to see it go out for paint, reading the comment about "ready early next year..."

Then just three posts later seeing it pop up complete after a year lol,.
painters.
Was hoping to see the spring green, but great build, owner must have killed it on some crypto or something, dang $$$$$!

Yeah, painters!! It’s a dying profession though for this kind of thing.

No on the crypto, yes he is a businessman and has built several companies from the ground up. I used to live in Wyoming myself and was a contractor and worked with him in that life. Known him 20yrs now.

He almost went with the OG Spring Green, I cheered that decision on but obviously in the end it got white. His fleet is white so yeah, it’s easy too for scratches and well, just easy.

The build thread only gets better from here to final delivery of the Cruiser!! 😋🤙

I didn’t take any pics today during assembly but it finally got the super nice billet flywheel fitted and performance clutch from NPC.
