Kindergarden Red Song.
R. E. D. R. E. D. R. E. D.
I can spell red, I can spell red
Fire trucks are red
Stop signs are red
Ferrari are red
Coca Cola cans are red
The Red FJ45 Can is red........RED. RED. RED.
I can spell ...The Red FJ45 Can... I can spell ...The Red Fj45 Can... RED. RED. RED.

Second strophe beginning...

A nice Idaho dog house is red... I can spell ... a nice Idaho dog house is RED. RED. RED.

I liked kindergarden (sp?), especially nap time. Don’t remember much about it though 56yrs ago.

I’m hoping I won’t need to forget this. The small silver outlined box is what needs to be cut and reshaped from the trans tunnel to eliminate interference with the shift linkage, and some amount of the remaining large box is what needs to be cut and reshaped to fit the select linkage. Still trying to figure how far forward that cut needs to go. And I need to have accelerator pedal clearance in the end. Time to sing.

Before I cut into this tunnel, does anyone know if there are shorter (horizontally toward the tranny) shift levers available? If so that would lesson or might eliminate interference between the rods and the tunnel - but maintaining clearance with each other and the bell housing. Thoughts? @pardion @whitey45 @orangefj45

Ditto what Georg said, time to customize...nothing that a ball-peen hammer and a torch can't solve.

Set aside the hump distraction for now, starting to see what paint‘s left on the fenders. Like the embossed marks on the brass clips holding the pads in place.

Also the koito light bases under the dietz turn signals.

Done protesting all pronouns, not just gender specifics.

And in other unrelated tech SOR part 072-06-A vacuum hose does not fit the early-‘63 vacuum switch tube on firewall, too small of ID.

Another nuisance item replaced.

This rig has the original drive shafts from your rig for centered rear differential. So they share some DNA.

Was hoping to get the axles including the centered rear but couldn’t figure out transport, so they‘re in landcruiser heaven. Everyone wants to go fast in these non-fast rigs.

In between de-bondo-ing the fenders, aprons and grill starting to add runtime fluids. Clutch is full op. Brakes are at 95%. Had one pesky original banjo bolt that needed attention to get the crush washer sealed.

Got bit in the butt with that stupid thick rubber gasket that comes in the thermostat housing seal kits. After mopping the shop floor - EG is a pretty good cleaner despite the toxicity to the rodents - I made a proper thin gasket. Hoping.

Lookin good mate!

I’d post a video of the motor finally running but this digital world sucks.

operator.

stupid is that stupid does.

where‘s that box of chocolates?

Almost...

Finally...

Oil and CHG idiot lights work too (they’re off as suppose to be when running, on when key is first turned).

A smoke after...😂

Temp gauge got to a little above the middle line. Smoke dissipated on later starts and runs. Hopefully just burning off some unknown number of years not running.

Non-Toyota tech

The Carter WA-1 carb leak in first video was from replacement float needle in rebuild kit (right one in pic). They don’t work (or are subject to indentation and leaking until the synthetic rubber un-indents 😳). Replaced with original (left in pic), no leaks. Wonder if the spring loaded ones in my Carter AFB would fit - good for off-roading?
