Awesome! PM sent. I too have a fondness for air chisel evidence on old cruiser parts, lol.

It got removed when I swapped to a removable cab. Glad to help and glad I kept it.

And the crowd goes nuts :bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

Simple things sometimes.

I knew I was going to replace the bushings, so I tried wrenching on the top one since it’s pressed on to preserve the shaft itself. Didn’t work though. What ended up working was (in addition to many days of chemical, fire and frost attacks) using my air chisel with a hammer tool. And some stern language and threats. The trick was adequately securing the assembly in my vice since it’s no longer riveted to the frame. Not sure I would have had access if it was still attached. Some day I’ll press off that bushing and have a backup shaft. So new parts (from Mississippi!), old bracket and some bolts and I’ll be back in steering business lol.

Oh this will fit in well. Sweet! Thanks Mark.

Glad it worked out for you Paul...it looks right at home.

Hey chump, where’s our protein?

Beggers, all of them.

Working on getting new welder in place. A plug swap needed (30 to 50 amp). Boring. But then I can melt some of the buggered frame. And I’m good at doing that. Hopefully some of the melted areas will qualify as welds.

Progress is slow. Slowgress, that’s a better word. Of course, there’s Congress. ‘Nuff said. I might have the driver’s side frame patch advanced by tomorrow. I’m almost done with the frame box patch part. I’ll post a pic later when I get the holes drilled and primed. That’s the easy part. Melting it in place will be the challenge.

Her theme for this rig - she doesn’t care if it has black paint on the hood badges or whether there’s a Vader light. Patina is preferred. But definitely it has to run and she gets the passenger seat. There is a cruiser in the last pic. Wish I could say there are chuckars in it. So does she. Ruby is a trooper.

Test fit with temp bolts. Weld tomorrow hopefully. Structurally sound? Who knows.

Melted in place. Good thing I don’t have to make a living doing this.

Passenger side melted.

Revival! Thanks @FJ45VTOZ

Spent some time in Maine (and RI, and NY) this past week. I like open space. Run, Forest, Run.

Time to get the frame done. And call the brake line man (@Rainman).

Finally picked up needed bolts. Not as fast as Usain (Bolt) lol. Got the center arm back together and installed. Smooth operator.
