Always a great feeling to get the 40 out of storage!

I am at the point that the floor needs to go in. I had the new floor sandblasted to take off the mil scale and did the old one too. Im glad I bent up a new floor, the sandblaster could not get everything out of the old one. Im going to cap all the rib ends like the side floor sections, epoxy prime inside all the channels that support the floor and then install. This one might be a while.

Verified front floor corners fit with main bed floor. Cut mount supports in between WW. Cut front bed support, but need to remove front sill to install it. Cut out old front bed mounts to sandblast then will install. The rusty metal pile is becoming hard to control!

That removed rear sill looks better than what’s in my 40 😂

Getting busy now that its getting nice out so trying to get bed somewhat complete before summer activities slows this project down. Front bed mount support located in front sill. Welded mounts to support and verified fitment on frame. Verified tailgate fitment to floor ribs is good.

I think I can speak for group at large when I say…

Your dedication to doing it right and skill set is extremely impressive!

Thank you for continuing to update this thread! You’ve made a lot of us who’ve owned a SWB longer than you feel absolutely terrible about our SWB’s current condition.

You were the right person to be the next caretaker of @3_puppies old truck.
