Nice work, I was waiting to see who got this one. My dad and I have made several similar trips together to pick up vehicles over the years. A lot of great memories!

That’s really great work. I’ve got the same work ahead of me. Did you ever check into cutting a 40”x68” rectangular skin from a donor Toyota, chevy, ford, …. and see how well a single piece would fit within front and back and within wheel wells? Just something I was thinking as I worked on the bed today.

I have been looking at bed floors. Seems like an older S-10 bed floor may work. Not sure what gauge it is. I just talked to my metal supplier. He has an 8 foot brake so may try to do a 41”x 6 foot piece next week. My center section is repairable but it will have a bunch of patches.

You need to look at this thread. @miker is the master!
Go to page 4, posting 68. The press he made will blow you away!

Wow. Just out of curiosity, how long did it take?

A couple hours. Most of it was layout. You have to layout both sides because the sheet needs to be flipped.
Small I need is to find a new friend with a brake. A really big one…

This is how I did it if you can read my chicken scratch. My spacing moves both ribs next to wheel wells in a bit so I wont have to modify the rib for mount hole. If u wanted exact factory I would go from 1 3/8” to 1 1/2” on rib layout.

Started getting one qtr panel fabbed up. The lower part of the old panel was full of filler so removed and straightened it out for template. Need to think about how to make lower and rear bends. Fabbed passenger side bed floor aft of wheel well and started to fit that.
